SWG on PS3 would that be such a bad thing ?

I was thinking about weather it would be good for SWG to be released on PS3. Take today for example, I am leaving in a short while to have my weekly manicure, it takes a few hours out of my day that is a few hours that I could play one of my favorite games SWG, rather then watching TV, and drinking wine, well at least the TV part. With a PS3 I could just have Melinda hook that up and then log on and play. I have already tried it with a Laptop; however it tends to be awkward. Food for thought. Happy gaming everyone. Well, don't you worry. As soon as Sony figures out which end of the shipping containers is up, and the PS/3 ships, you will get your wish I am sure. SOE has made it painfully obvious they could care less about PC Gamers with the NGE.
What else does everybody think the simplified animations, reduced professions, and tinny sound effects are all about? You don't really think SOE thought they were good for gameplay? All necessary to squeeze the game onto the console? Probably. Especially the character changes you were touting yesterday.
I'm beginning to agree with everybody else on this forum that the OP is an SOE shill.

But yea, SWG on PS3 is a good idea. Portability will remain an issue, since you will need internet connection, which is something these consoles aren't intended to circumvent, but other than that, why not.
It's being offered as standard title with release anyway, so there's little point in arguing about it.
I think it would be fantastic to be able to have it in PS3, I agree with you Rekrul. However I do have to run for my appointment, you have yourself a wonderful day. Thank you or your time.

real worry is that; SOE made NGE just to invent it for consoles.
How many more kiddies will start playing SWG with consoles anyway? Only kiddies play NGE on PC's.
The only evidence that the NGE wasn't designed as a console port is SOE's statement that SWG wouldn't be ported to consoles (made after the NGE showed an incredible loss of subscriptions). This classic CYA statement means that you have to take SOE's word that they didn't design the NGE with consoles on their mind. I am inclined to not believe them.
There have been posts showing other evidence of a taking SWG to consoles, but their is one in particular that stands out for me. SOE issued a press statement about designing their MMO games with the possiblity of porting to consoles in mind, made just a few months after the CU went live (and likely at the time the NGE was starting to see its development).
As far as I am concerned, the NGE was designed to be ported to consoles.
Since you posted this right after my reply, I will assume you are addressing me. The questions I asked were self-explanatory, please go back with a dictionary and figure them out as I am not going to waste time or forum space translating them for SOE's current target demographic.
After 39 years of wading through life, there is one thing I no longer do: Worry about saying or doing the wrong thing. And most of all, I don't worry about what other people think, especially SOE shills. That is how I wound up here, spouting my pre-NGE rhetoric on SOE's board. SOE no longer cared for it I guess. I'll continue to do so here and other places, until a real Star Wars game is made by somebody else or SOE gets on their knees and kiss our butts and apologize for being the jackholes they are.

There probably won't be any "10 day free trial". It'll be: pay a fortune for the PS3, pay $60 for an old MMORPG that got a 1.5/5 on EBGames.com, and then $15 a month for a game that's known for throwing all of your progress out the window at the drop of a hat.
So, I say do it! Come on, all your PC subscribers will be going to the emu anyway! Focus all of your energy on the PS3 version, the PC version's fine as it is. They don't need any updates, they're probably still worn out from that first Restuss event.

I think it would be funny as hell.. the hate between PC players and Console players is already so well known that Huxley an mmofps that will be available for PC and Xbox360 is actually using it to feed the conflict in game, Xbox players will not have access to the same races as PC players they are default on the opposite team

Now add that level of hate to the already warring factions of NGE players against preCU players and you have a very ugly situation.

SWG is dead now. Not even releasing it to PS3 can save it.
Although you might want to suggest the PS3 concept for SWG2 when its released 2007/2008
I guess it depends on whom you ask.
To me its immoral and unethical to port to PS3. Why, well because its another slap in the face to the pc gamers. It would be like buying a car, testing it out for 3 years only to find out its really meant to be a boat.
And thats what the NGE is all about. Lies lies and more lies. It had nothing to do with making the game "iconic" or easier to fix. It was about stripping the game down to port easily to PS3. And the fools still trusting of SOE get to PAY to beta test a new game for PS3.
It will be fantastic for SWG to be released on console.
We will have a chance to play with real gamers not afk campers .
But before releasing I hope they are gonna delete some useless planets cities -whiners , traders from game. There are so many useless trash from pre-nge(aka pre grandma).

SOE murdered SWG by trying to turn it in to Battlefield 3. It was fine the way it was pre-cu, it just needed some minor tweaking to fix broken stuff. It did NOT need to be made like every other level based game, and then changed in to FPS.
As the players showed enmasse by hitting that big ole, (yet elusive,) cancel button. SOE Lost 50-75% of their customers in one fell swoop.
No you are incorrect JRSCOTT my post was not towards you, it was for Rekrul, however from your post that you did send you do seem to be a very angry person, you may want to take some time and go have a manicure done. I belong to a club, however there are many Spa’s that offer manicures for men and I am sure there maybe one in your location. I do not know what the costs of them are in your area, however for me it works out to roughly six hundred dollars a week. You will feel fantastic afterwards. I say let them have SWG. SOE won't be able to bring back the old game, so we might as well let the instant gratification people have SWG while we wait for a different developer (oh please let it be someone besides SOE!!!) to make a different Star Wars MMORPG.

I could not disagree more on how wrong the SWG+NGE = battlefront statement is:
Battlefront is an fps nothing more or less while SWG is a cr*p fps hybrid something or other never used in succesful games before.
I want pre-NGE back as well, for nothing more than it had more depth than most games on the market today but please DO NOT compaire games in the shops today with this buggy hybrid none-constant game(SWG) there is no comparision.
Let this game go to console then let them explain to the console generation it will take another 6 months to sort out current problems and see how many wait around for that to happen good luck SOE but i feel you need more than that.
Ya know SWG on PS3 wouldnt really suprise me anymore.. I mean SOE / LA has lied about just about everything else when it comes to SWG... And if anyone wants to challenege this Ican pull oput the comments by the Devs and Smedly about the revamps, or the CU not going anywhere, or target lock not coming back, or auto aim not coming back etc etc...
