1- The naive who go about thinking the world is sunshine and pixie farts, but in the end miss out on the one truth that they should have seen coming. Even if they had to filter through 1000s of other pieces of fluff to get there.
2- The "sensation theorists" who point at the shadows and yell DEMON everytime but in the end actually catch one hiding there when no one else was looking.
As long as no one is being hurt...I for one chose #2

I understand where you're coming from, but someone yelling, "DEMON" while pointing at the shadows might as well be crying, "WOLF!" People like admriker do so much yelling that whenever a DEMON or WOLF is actually there, no one listens because too much of their noise didn't amount to anything.
We need people to call out when something is horribly wrong. But only AFTER they have really and trully indentified a WOLF. Some people just need to be more discriminating if they actually want to make a difference.

Oh, I would take number 3 myself, if it were really a majority. I am not even sure the vast majority of capable of either systematic or logical thought. What I was asking is which of those lesser of two evils was preferrable.

In a perfect world we'd all be #3s. But hell, a lot of people out there don't even k now where to get the "information" as it stands. Someone out there sifting through it and handing it out, even if it is in a package including a tin-foil hat, is the only way some people will ever get any information.

I can see where you are coming from there. You're not calling for people to "keep the theories to themselves" as much as "broadcast them in moderation and check your facts". I agree with that. I guess it's hard though to really outline what one person considers facts compared to the next.
Too many cries of wolf can ruin it for many people, but if you're like me, you're not afraid of the wolf. So you don't care how many times someone cries out. Now, when you smell a little wolf crap and you hear "Wolf" you might perk up and look around.
I guess I am just selective as to what cries I bother paying attention to. It's not as much a matter of the person crying wolf as it is the topic in which the are crying wolf. If it's something that is no concern to me, I ignore. if I am at all interested, I take a look...all the while taking it in with a grain of salt.

For me I would never give up any liberties. It's a slap in the face to our forefathers and very unamerican imo.
What will your defiance accomplish? Some jail time or a hefty fine. I'll just roll with the punches and be thankful I'm not that starving kid you see on TV.

Hah, I find these "facts" to be rather comforting: I don't believe that all humans have rights; terrorists and enemies of war should be subjected to the same treatment that our own soldiers afford.
If it is necessary to erect concentration camps to isolate groups that are potential terrorists, then so be it. Would you rather they provide tangible evidence that they are indeed terrorists?
Is the constitution based on recent economic theory? No. Some rights, like the right to bear arms, are out-dated and in need of amendment.
As evidenced by the myriad of muslims that were swayed by radicals, people are not yet capable of governing themselves efficiently: Until every person on this planet has the mental faculties of a college graduate, it will continue to be necessary to strip civil liberties.
This is a sequence of characters intended to produce some profound mental effect, but it has failed.

You sound frighteningly similar to Hitler.

Hitler was on the right path until he started using ethnic, racial and sexual profiles to persecute others. He also got a bit greedy when he tried to invade Russia.
Unlike Hitler, I don't believe that race, religion and skull diameter determine a person's worth. However, I do believe that people that prove themselves to be detrimental to the global good should not be given rights.

And who gets to decide whether or not they are detrimental?

Then because of that they don't have to research it themselves to see if it was true and they can go on playing their video games like nothing ever happened.
Ok, heres the problem. Its really hard to take someone seriously who sees hidden agendas in every shadow and devious plots around every corner.
I actually believe that there are some twisted people in influential positions that don't have the publics best interest in mind. But sensationalists like admriker do more harm to the cause than good. They are so quick to jump on a bandwagon simply because someone spraypainted "OMG Conspiracy!!!11!!1" on the side of it, that anytime they come across something that may have substance behind it, its actually embarrasing for logical, rational, and objective people to associate themselves.
For example, admriker got people all worked up about a conspiracy to keep "free energy" out of our hands. Rather than look into himself, some fuzzy science and "group think" was good enough for him. Several posts went by before someone with the expertise to have a valid opinion stepped in and blasted the entire "conspiracy" to pieces. Here's the thread. http://mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/83571

First off, that poster didnt blow anything out of the water as you claim. He merely gave you something to hang your hat on. Im not about to argue with some guy who took one physics class in college and thinks he understands every law of nature. The fact is free energy exists and is being supressed by the very same people behind the federal reserve. But dont believe me, read the Disclosure book by Dr. Steven Greer or visit his website at www.disclosureproject.org
Second, if you look at the overall picture...these people, these international bankers are pretty much behind a lot of nefarious things that all tie together. I havent even listed half the things I have learned through my extensive research.
For example, Aaron Russo the director for Trading Places and the Rose got friendly with a Rockefeller during his bid for Governor of Nevada. The subject of the Woman's Liberation movement came up. Naively, Russo thought the movement was started by Gloria Steinham as an outlet for equality for women. Mr. Rockefeller laughed and called him stupid. His response was that they (the banking cartel) was really behind the women's liberation movement. It had nothing to do with "liberating" them, but rather they wanted those women in the workforce so they could be taxed, go into debt, and put their children in daycare so they could indoctrinate them at an earlier age.
Believe what you like, but when repeatedly folks make statements like this you have to wonder how much do we really know the truth about.
Take a look at the interview on Aaron Russo's site, its 35 minutes and very iluminating.
This isnt some guy who's pulling rumors out of his tailpipe. Extensive research was done.
Also take a look at a group called We the People. They have tried suing the goverment several times over income taxes. According to them, the 16th amendment was never leagally ratified and even if it had been it doesnt give the goverment the right to tax labor. Dont believe me fin, but several people have avoided paying taxes AND have won court verdicts when they demanded to see the law that stated we must pay taxes on labor and file a 1040.
You may consider that another topic of conspiracy, but I dont. It all comes down to the sadistic control international bankers have over us. The ID chip, income taxes, supressed technologies, and stealing our country's gold from Ft. Knox all fall under this umbrella.

So according to you, I should wait until AFTER I'm tossed into a concentration camp for re-education before I'm allowed to speak out ???
Its much easier to look for excuses than the truth. And the truth cant be a plainer than the Federal Reserve. Shall I quote you word for word where it stated in the Constitution that only Congress has the right to print money ???
Did you even bother to read Thomas Jefferson's quote about how a central bank was more dangerous to this country than any standing army ???

wow, just wow. So according to you if Im considered detrimental I dont deserve my rights ?
You do sound like Hitler. You also sound like Attorney General Ashcroft who was quoted as stating americans should be labeled enemy combatants and stripped of their rights if necessary. This is so wrong on every level.

Camps for Citizens: Ashcroft's Hellish Vision
Attorney general shows himself as a menace to liberty
by Jonathan Turley
14 August 2002
Los Angeles Times
Atty. Gen. John Ashcroft's announced desire for camps for U.S. citizens he deems to be "enemy combatants" has moved him from merely being a political embarrassment to being a constitutional menace.
Ashcroft's plan, disclosed last week but little publicized, would allow him to order the indefinite incarceration of U.S. citizens and summarily strip them of their constitutional rights and access to the courts by declaring them enemy combatants.
The proposed camp plan should trigger immediate congressional hearings and reconsideration of Ashcroft's fitness for this important office. Whereas Al Qaeda is a threat to the lives of our citizens, Ashcroft has become a clear and present threat to our liberties.
The camp plan was forged at an optimistic time for Ashcroft's small inner circle, which has been carefully watching two test cases to see whether this vision could become a reality. The cases of Jose Padilla and Yaser Esam Hamdi will determine whether U.S. citizens can be held without charges and subject to the arbitrary and unchecked authority of the government.
Hamdi has been held without charge even though the facts of his case are virtually identical to those in the case of John Walker Lindh. Both Hamdi and Lindh were captured in Afghanistan as foot soldiers in Taliban units. Yet Lindh was given a lawyer and a trial, while Hamdi rots in a floating Navy brig in Norfolk, Va.
This week, the government refused to comply with a federal judge who ordered that he be given the underlying evidence justifying Hamdi's treatment. The Justice Department has insisted that the judge must simply accept its declaration and cannot interfere with the president's absolute authority in "a time of war."
In Padilla's case, Ashcroft initially claimed that the arrest stopped a plan to detonate a radioactive bomb in New York or Washington, D.C. The administration later issued an embarrassing correction that there was no evidence Padilla was on such a mission. What is clear is that Padilla is an American citizen and was arrested in the United States -- two facts that should trigger the full application of constitutional rights.
Ashcroft hopes to use his self-made "enemy combatant" stamp for any citizen whom he deems to be part of a wider terrorist conspiracy.
Perhaps because of his discredited claims of preventing radiological terrorism, aides have indicated that a "high-level committee" will recommend which citizens are to be stripped of their constitutional rights and sent to Ashcroft's new camps.
Few would have imagined any attorney general seeking to reestablish such camps for citizens. Of course, Ashcroft is not considering camps on the order of the internment camps used to incarcerate Japanese American citizens in World War II. But he can be credited only with thinking smaller; we have learned from painful experience that unchecked authority, once tasted, easily becomes insatiable.
We are only now getting a full vision of Ashcroft's America. Some of his predecessors dreamed of creating a great society or a nation unfettered by racism. Ashcroft seems to dream of a country secured from itself, neatly contained and controlled by his judgment of loyalty.
For more than 200 years, security and liberty have been viewed as coexistent values. Ashcroft and his aides appear to view this relationship as lineal, where security must precede liberty.
Since the nation will never be entirely safe from terrorism, liberty has become a mere rhetorical justification for increased security.
Ashcroft is a catalyst for constitutional devolution, encouraging citizens to accept autocratic rule as their only way of avoiding massive terrorist attacks.
His greatest problem has been preserving a level of panic and fear that would induce a free people to surrender the rights so dearly won by their ancestors.
In "A Man for All Seasons," Sir Thomas More was confronted by a young lawyer, Will Roper, who sought his daughter's hand. Roper proclaimed that he would cut down every law in England to get after the devil.
More's response seems almost tailored for Ashcroft: "And when the last law was down and the devil turned round on you, where would you hide, Roper, the laws all being flat? ... This country's planted thick with laws from coast to coast ... and if you cut them down -- and you are just the man to do it -- do you really think you could stand upright in the winds that would blow then?"
Every generation has had Ropers and Ashcrofts who view our laws and traditions as mere obstructions rather than protections in times of peril. But before we allow Ashcroft to denude our own constitutional landscape, we must take a stand and have the courage to say, "Enough."
Every generation has its test of principle in which people of good faith can no longer remain silent in the face of authoritarian ambition. If we cannot join together to fight the abomination of American camps, we have already lost what we are defending.
Thank you for proving my point admriker. I don't know what you saw in my posts that suggest you should - wait until AFTER you're tossed into a concentration camp for re-education before you're allowed to speak out.
Mine is simply a call for a more level headed and discriminating approach to the information before sounding the war trumpets. You seem to have taken my perspective and jumped to extreme conclusions. Habit?
As mentioned before, I actually believe there is substance to some of the things you bring to the table, but its hard to differentiate fact from fluff when we're surrounded by so many "wolves".
and don't get me started on the hitler cow. . . not even worth it
*edit adding the point that I agree Ashcroft was a menace. You'd probably be surprised on what we agree on. My point is take it down a few hundred decibels so people can take their fingers from their ears and hear you with the least amount of pre-judgment possible.
Anyone who wants to get involved, I suggest getting your name in the lawsuit from the group "We the People"
To summarize
This group is demanding the goverment respond to a petition. Our consitution gives us the people the right to petition our goverment for answers. The question is, show us the law that states we must pay taxes on labor (and no its not the 16th amendment, 8 different supreme court rulings stated that it doesnt give the goverment the right to tax labor).
So far the goverment has steadfastly refused to even answer the petition, something they MUST do as a requirement of the constitution.
Did you ever ask yourself why do we have a federal income tax ? Our country certainly did fine without one prior to 1913. Its to pay the interest on money the federal reserve prints and loans to us. Take away the Fed, print our own money and we dont need a national income tax anymore.
If you dig further, you'll find that both the Federal Reserve Act and the income tax were implemented in the very same year of 1913. You'll also find that Woodrow Wilson was nothing more than a tool for international bankers. I could go on for pages and pages on how Wilson was maneuvered into office and the effort to start the League of Nations, but that would mean more conspiracies

We need people to call out when something is horribly wrong. But only AFTER they have really and trully indentified a WOLF. Some people just need to be more discriminating if they actually want to make a difference.
-- I need a nerf --
You have to take the same stance I do really there so as to not drive yourself crazy. Unless they are truly hurting someone "theorists" aren't doing anything wrong. Like I said in an above post. What would you prefer:
1- The naive who go about thinking the world is sunshine and pixie farts, but in the end miss out on the one truth that they should have seen coming. Even if they had to filter through 1000s of other pieces of fluff to get there.
2- The "sensation theorists" who point at the shadows and yell DEMON everytime but in the end actually catch one hiding there when no one else was looking.
As long as no one is being hurt...I for one chose #2
3- Like Faemus said People who "systematically and logically revealing the truth for themselves."
I want number three.

"What is it I have against Microsoft, you ask? Well, you know how you feel when you wait for an MMO to come out and when it does you feel like you've paid to play it's beta test for another 6-9 months before anything even thinks of working the way it should? Being a network engineer you feel that way about anything Microsoft puts out."

This is a sequence of characters intended to produce some profound mental effect, but it has failed.
And who gets to decide whether or not they are detrimental?

I don't flame people and I'm not even going to refute what he brings up because occasionally their may be some substance. But I honestly don't know what bothers me more. Nieve people who pretend like nothing is wrong with The Powers That Be, or lazy sensationalists like admriker who'd rather foam at the mouth instead of systematically and logically revealing the truth for themselves.

I understand where you're coming from, but someone yelling, "DEMON" while pointing at the shadows might as well be crying, "WOLF!" People like admriker do so much yelling that whenever a DEMON or WOLF is actually there, no one listens because too much of their noise didn't amount to anything.

Defiance is what set us free when we were ruled by a king. I see where you are going though, as long as you aren't affected/starving then everything is super.
How's that saying go, they came to take my neighbor because he was jewish. I didnt say anything because I wasnt jewish. They then came to take another neighbor because he was black. I didnt say anything because Im not black. They then came to take another neighbor because...etc. Finally they came and took me and there was nobody around to say anything.
Dude , seriously wake up and read a history book.
I guess I need to repost this since its obvious some didnt read it...
How can this not scare the hell out of everyone is beyond me. If this isnt a wolf to scream at Faemus, I dont know what would be.
Taken from the LA Times...
Habit?
As mentioned before, I actually believe there is substance to some of the things you bring to the table, but its hard to differentiate fact from fluff when we're surrounded by so many "wolves".
btw. how is your free energy device coming along?

and don't get me started on the hitler cow. . . not even worth it
*edit
adding the point that I agree Ashcroft was a menace. You'd probably be surprised on what we agree on. My point is take it down a few hundred decibels so people can take their fingers from their ears and hear you with the least amount of pre-judgment possible.
-- I need a nerf --
Anyone who wants to get involved, I suggest getting your name in the lawsuit from the group "We the People"
To summarize
