Next SWG?

What I mean is...  SWG had a certain "Social" factor to it such as cantinas and player houseing..  I enjoyed being able to jet off to a cantina and talk for like 2 hours chilling out rather then grinding the entire day..  Is SoR at all like that or am I going to be sadly disappointed..  Looking for a game that can offer me more besides countless zones of 3 monsters that you fight for 5 days to get to the next level.

I think the player housing is small instanced apartments and they all look the same... it's basically a pretty storage area. So that part, you may not like.

However, the fundamental game system is a lot like the original SWG system -- open ended, free-form, skill based. And the community is excellent so there should be tons of opportunity to just socialize if you want.

Im pretty amazed I played this game like a week after it came out and I
just couldn't get hooked.  Ive been reading all the reviews on the
trial for the newb island and im amazed.. Ive yet to find one negative
review from people that have been playing the trial for a while.  Ill
give it a shot hopefully it hooks me this time.  It seems the first
time I tryd it they throw you in a desert city with no information on
where to go what to do or where the heck you were.  ( Hopefully its a
    little better this time )

With all these new players around I have a hard time actually achieving something in game. Too many chats going on at once.

It has certainly changed in just a few weeks.

Onoma, that's exacty what happened to me. I tried it during the last phase of beta and just couldn't get into it. The starter island is a pretty amazing turnaround in "tutorial" type play.

I'd encourage you to take another look. I'm subscribed now and starting exploring the captiol city of the Zorai today.

This game to me recalls the old SWG. Great community, sandbox play style, skill based. When I started the game, I was out in the world by myself. Fortunately, everytime I logged in there was someone basically holding my hands and helping me with anything I needed help with. I joined a great guild soon there after and have never looked back. I created a new character on the newbie Island today and am amazed at how helpful it is to new players. I still miss the old pre-cu days but this game is the NGE antidote that I've been searching for.

There are bars and other areas where RP Gamers gather frequently, at least here on Lenaon Server.
And if you just want to socialise OOC, then whos to stop you from asking the next freindly homin coming by and making new friends ?

    We´re open, are you too?

Exactly my point, I like SWG pre CU, I was completely hooked, and then I just could not find a game to fill in the MMO void, I turned to the Dark side and played WoW and it filled in the hours, but such an empty world, I really missed the community that SWG had, Been in Ryzom for a few weeks and the Island was ok, it gave you a taste of the combat, skills and stanza modification and introduced you to the community via the uni chat, but once you hit the main land and meet a guild, the game just takes off, I like many aspects of the game and as my Guild drags me across the world I am liking it more ever day, all I can say is leave noob island dont use this as a measure of the game, it just the tip of the iceberg, a couple of twilek dancers and a canteena and I would be there :-)
