And something I've found fun, is that once you have the double-spell stanzas (double elemental and afflicting elemental), the order in which you insert spells of the same level determines which effect and animation combination the resulting spell has. So for example you can have an Electricity effect with an Acid animation. Or a Blind effect with a Cold animation, which forms a very nice fireball...I bet that'd be useful for some kind of ceremonial display...

spell animations also change as you get more powerful versions of the same spell, so the pitiful little blob of the starter acid spell is a raging green inferno of pain at high levels

Each spell has its own animation. And they are very spectacular and different. Even better, the animations evolve as you advance your magic skills.

That's something all MMO's should strive for in my opinion.
