I agree, I want Smed to get the axe, but he shouldn't be alone, Julio needs to join him in the unemployment line. These guys don't know anything of customer interactions. They treat their customers as second class citizens. In an HoC chat a question about the UI came up twice, and Julio answered with (I am paraphrasing it was a bit ago but I was so shocked at his response) "We're not going back to the old UI ever, now make suggestions to make this UI better."

Then they whole "vocal miority," all the fluff pieces, and crap. They honestly don't care about the public and it's sad. But I agree Smed and Julio (maybe he already did?) should get the axe

SOE announced sometime back around the CU that they had sold over 1 million units.  now that's NOT subscribers, but boxes sold.

we are talking about somewhere around 10% retention rate ppl.  for every 10 ppl who buy, ONE PERSON stays, plays, and pays.  that's pathetic no matter how you slice it.

    SWG ADDICT...clean since the NGE

That announcement was made after the ROTW expansion was released, along with the "total experience" package.  Many believe that particular comment about "BOXES" included the expansions as well as the original game.  Without any distinction by SOE/LA, neither of us can be sure we are correct, but the 10-1 ratio you cite doesn't seem to reflect the populations on the servers I played on.

It never ceases to amaze me that $OE can stay in business when they continually lie to their playerbase.

SONY Corporate REALLY needs to wake up.

I've been amazed that Smed still has a job.  I haven't been able to figure out how a corporation has allowed losing $1.5 million per month from lost subs since the NGE.  Remember, Sony acquired Verant Interactive in 2000 and made it SOE.  Smed was president of Verant and I'd bet that part of the buyout was a stipulation that Smed gets to be CEO of SOE for a period of time.  That's got to be the only way that he still has a job.
As for why the corporations are saying "No" to millions of dollars per month.... Someone must have convinced the execs that the PS3 release of SWG would bring in more money then they could imagine.  Whoever managed to convince them of that could sell a refrigerator to an eskimo.
So far, since the NGE, they have said "No" to $10.5 Million since the NGE went live.  (a conservative estimate)  I just can't figure out how Sony Corp. and LA are okay with that.
