Listen, I know that all these new MMORPGs are cool with the graphics and quests and all the other crap involved, but can we please create another MMORPG that has some PvP action? Since they turned Ultima Online into a item game, where whoever has the best item from the hardest monster in the game will own everybody when it comes down to dueling, but before they messed UO up it was the best PvP game on the market, I just wish some company would create another game where PvP, was how good a player was controling his character, not just how good a character is killing a monster then having the best item in the game to beat his enemy. So agree or disagree, but I wish they would create a game with similar PvP to Ultima Online.

Couldn't agree more. But we are the minority.
Take a look at Darkfall Online. This game is looks to be coming along well and will have a lot of PVP behind it. Hopefully done right.
In the mean time, you should check out some of the free run shards for ultima online. While graphics are dated the game play for pvp is still great.
In Por Yelm is a great server, that tries to emulate a Pre UO:R shard. If you were a big fan of the old uo, you should give it a shot. http://www.wtfman.com/shard/
Please help me understand something here.
Felucca still offers you the old-style, all-for-nothing PvP does it not? Aside from losing a base of players that were hapless victims who didn't necessarily want to participate in being PKed, what is it about UO that doesn't allow you to engage in what you're looking for?

I have wanted to see this same question answered by these guys. The short answer, as far as I can tell, is that they are gankers and griefers, and if there aren't innocent people who don't fight back to pick on, then the game isn't fun.
I suspect that's true, too. I'd like to know if that's all it is.
This topic has been covered a lot of times.First the basics of mmorpg vaires from game to game.PvP maybe or may not be part of it.
Take EQ for instance many consider it the crowning achievement of a good mmorpg and it has no PvP.
Truth is a vast majority like PvP but a vast majority were fed up of the griefing involved in it thus the changes made in UO(do you think origin changed it because they wanted to haha).
This explains the fact DAoC did so well non grief organised pvp.
Shadowbane came out to cater for those that wanted the unrestricted pvp and did ever so poorly.
But I agree of late mmorpgs coming out lack a good foundation. It seems to be getting prettier all the time but graphics wear out after a few weeks.Such great graphics come at a price also loads of bugs, lag(even with a super system because the server can do so much).
I would like mmorpgs to go back to the basics of fun for all like EQ did and to some extent DAoC.I like to see lower graphics but much more content.Dungeons have become progressively worse which is a big shame for instance.I mean AC2,SWG have basically some hole they call dungeons!
