Hi im thinking of starting lineage 2.  I have played everquest, everquest 2, ffxi, n wow.  I was wondering if the challenge is more than WoW.  But not to hard that it feels like its just taking my money.  Also some good points about the game would be appreciated b4 i decide to buy.

*edit: compare way to hard to more than 5+ hours a day to accomplish.  like a WoW endgame raid.

If you're talking about getting high warlord and comparing that to L2, WoW is much harder.

The grind in L2 is not too bad until you hit level 72. Reaching level 78 is rough and will require a lot of your time. Don't feel down though becaue most classes are competitive in pvp at level 68. If you compare becoming a hero in L2 to becoming high warlord in in WoW, being a hero in L2 is much more realistic but it's a longer road.

Well, leveling is easier in L2 now than it was when I started. Having said that I think that you will find it quite challenging compared to WoW.

Actually, the game does not compare to any of the games you've listed...(well, I don't know a huge amount about final fantasy.. played for a few days that's it.)

But you need to know that L2 is predominantly about PvP. The quests are pretty utilitairan. Just there to get you through your class changes or to help with some rewards.

If you like PvP you might like it. If you are into setting up your house or in depth character customization then not for you.

Of course, the only way to see is to try it.

The problem isn't so much the grind anymore (at higher levels its to be expected, wait until that new WoW expansion hits, those poor WoW kiddies are gonna be in for a shock 60-70 lol.)

The problem will be the economy if you ignore the economy. You can easily outpace your gear if you are not paying attention to it.

The leveling is much easier then before but getting gear hasn't.

If you plan on surviving on hunting alone, you will not make it in L2.
