Play.com have started to take PS3 pre orders. The only offer they're
doing at the moment though is a bundle. They wont charge your credit
card until the console ships in November.

the bundle is... PS3 60GB + 3 games. Formula One 06/Warhawk/Singstar

I'm not too sure about the games they're giving in the bundle... The games im dieing to play is Devil May Cry 4, Tekken 6, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Assasins Creed, Metel Gear Solid 4 : Guns of the Patriots, Resident Evil 5 and Genji 2. I've started putting money aside to purchase it. At a staggering £549.99 for the bundle i mentioned above and a £49.99 per game, It's a very expensive investment but it should be amazing. I've read so much and for all you people that think X-Box 360 is better... Wait till you play a Playstation 3. I think it's going to be one of the most wanted christmas presents for 2006, as it is going to be released in november just before christmas... Obviously there will be lots of sad kids that didn't get one... So if you're a parent and you son/daughter is a Playstation fan, i'd pre-order now... or you could be having a stroppy sun. Also i expect to see A LOT of Ps3's on ebay when they are released, most pre-orders are limiting to 1 per customer, but you allways get the greedy people buying loads and selling for double sometimes even triple the price...

Yes everybody, go ahead and buy youre PS3 bundles. Meanwhile ill be taking that same amount of cash and puttinga down payment on a Dodge Viper, or maybe a Bugatti Veyiron.

Let's see 5,000 is a small number... very small... and high price to boot.

I predict a PS3 will be sold on Ebay for over a grand this fall/winter.

In short, YOU ARE NOT GOING TO GET A PS3 THIS YEAR UNLESS YOU ARE RICH AND LUCKY.

I knew the games would be exspensive as hell. I couple posts back I pegged them 60-100$ Bam! Im proud of myself Total waste of money. The basic 500$ one doesnt support HD either.

I'm gonna wait... There's always a better version coming out afterwards. For cheaper, too.

In the meantime, I'll still be satisfying myself with Techromancer on Dreamcast.

Buy a DS lite and Xbox 360 and get some value out of your cash. DS has a lot of realyl fun and creative games 360 has a lot of well made console games. PS3 has...um...hmmm...what was it...oh ya...no wait...PS3 already has a cancelled game list because 3rd parties are fairly certain it won't sell well due to the price tag! Oh and don't expect a lot of creative games from 1st time devs like on the PS2 since the dev kit costs almost double the 360 kit and almost 4 times the DS dev kit.

And w/o a modem? Wait please tell me what Next Gen game you are going to play online with a modem? Solitare?

People don't even have modems in their PC's any more.. Modems are tech from 5 years ago..

Actually the $500 does support HD... Just not HDMI... so that means no 1080p... but you can still kick it up to 1080i and lower i believe.... if not then 720p for sure.

Again XBOX 360 can't even PLAY next gen movies.. So lets get some prices..
XBOX 360 + HD-DVD and still no 1080p will be %500 at the least while $700 - $1000 is more likely. and STill no HDMI oh well

This is why Microsoft and Sony fail as business in the console world.

Id buy a console to play games. I have a DVD player to play movies. Who gives a shit about HD-DVD or Blu-ray in a console. The people that do are the reason why the PS3 is $600 and the 360 is $400.

You corporate saps go spend $800 for a PS3, an extra controler and 1 game. Meanwhile ill be playing my PC until the Wii comes out, then ill spend a measly $400 for the console, and at LEAST 3 games.

The Gamecube may have not done all as well as the XBOX and the PS2, but at least Nintendo knows what the hell a console is, and they know what they want to make. I think all the 3rd party support they are racking up now is evidence of this.

And how do you know how much its going to cost?  And the games will definetely cost more then xbox360 games and ps3 games becouse developers will have to put more time and effort into the controls becouse its such a new concept and the games wont be easily portable to other systems...   Dont get me wrong i like the wii and it might beat both systems but the price hasnt been established yet so how do you know what the prices are going to be?

Nintendo president said before E3 that he "cant imagine games being over $49.99". The difference between the Wii games and the 360 and PS3 games is, the Wii is using generally the same engine that the Gamecube is. The graphics are of course better yes, but they are based off the same engine, hince the dev kit is extremely cheap compared to the 360 and espically the PS3, which is why Nintendo is racking up lots of 3rd party support. The new controler dosent amount to anywhere NEAR more dev time and cost than Blu-ray garbage or 360 games.

Also the PS3 games are going to be up to $100 each, nothing will be more expensive than that.

I've heard the PS3 games aren't going to be more than $60-70, £40-50.

That is 1 hefty price tag.Think about the things you can do with 700.00 us dollars.

1.Pay rent

2.Buy a pretty decent computer.

3.Airline tickets.

4.Car payment.

5.I can pay a months worth of bills.

6.Car tuneup

7.I could buy 2 or 3 lenses for my camera.(Nikon d50).

8.Its 2/3's of my daughter's monthly tuition.

I thought the 360 was expensive but i gotta say if i had a kid or 2 that wanted this id tell them to start saving.I mean really most people live on a tight monthly budget and xmas is even worse.

Some people will pay 1000.00 us for it i can see the stupidity happening now.
