Like a lot of you I couldn't take the NGE and quit a month after it came out and started playing WoW. I've been having a lot of fun with WoW but it's just not the same. I used to play SWG for hours on end between fighting, crafting and just hanging in cantinas but with WoW I just log in for a raid and then log out afterwards.
I keep getting tempted to reopen my SWG accounts and try it again but I doubt I will because of what I read on the forums and hear from friends that still play. I just wish the game would die so I wouldn't even be tempted.

Why is it that your forum name makes me want to watch a few episodes of Buffy?
Back to topic. I hear that! I was just recently tempted when a former guildmate decided to reopen his account. Thankfully I have great way of fixing the temptation. I just start up a free trial, make a character that is designed to be either a non-combatant or an Imperial, then I watch as the game forces me to shoot and kill stormtroopers next to Han Solo.
Nothing kills the urge for me better than that.
It's cheap, do it.
If you create a new character, you'll find Tansarii Station ok. They seemed to have changed it, made less missions, made them give less xp and money, is my impression.
The space missions are simpler (targeting and slowed down ships) so even I can hit a Black Sun, but in an escort mission between Tansarii and Gamma ( a stone's throw away) they just poured wave upon wave of Black Suns and luckily the server reset or I'd still be shooting the suckers. Overkill to say the least.
Once you get down to the planet you are a dead doggie cause you have to do the legacy quests to advance. I saw some poor schmucks trying to rill their way to the top, but they are going to lose their mouse hands to clicking. I've done those quests with several characters and I just can't stand to do them again. I'll just do them a bit here, a bit there as I can stand it. The sheer repetitiveness of it makes me feel like a rat in a trap.
I first logged into Star Wars Galaxies 3 years ago today. I wish things had gone differently but they show no signs of doing anything for the foreseeable future but tweaking the Jedi game and the supporting BH profession who are included as a foil.
The game looks kind of washed out, blah. I see all these criticisms of a certain other game having too much brown...but Galaxies is all brown now too.
I've never seen the Mos Eisley cantina empty, but I haven't seen anyone there anytime I've logged in. Pretty sad.
So, shell out the 15 bigs ones for a month (your potato chip and pop budget) and see what you think.
