Aye, been looking and waiting. The new one by NCSoft, Aion, looks promising but we are looking at at least another year for that one. It was shown at the E3 but not much more about it. You can go to the NCSoft site and its not listed but there is a little mention of it. Sign up and you will get the updates about it tho. I see they have it here now on the boards so thats a good thing. It won many accolades/good comments for its graphics.
I spoke with a very close friend who has been and still is in the Vanguard beta. I tried to get some info out of him and basically what it boiled down to is the rumors and hatemongers are exaggerating. The game is going along and the devs are trying to work things out.(damn NDA LOL) Its a big game and many are still anticipating it. So I will keep that one on my list.
SOC is looking interesting. The graphics are a new style and I like that. Much of the game mechanics look good, if not mold breaking, at least a possibility. I am waiting for Tabula Rose also.
These companies need to hire the shills and fanbois and cousins and brothers and sisters and moms and dads and the boy scout troop that is all about DNL - push that hype meter to orbit for them. LOL
Vanguard has ppl who hate its simply because its sponsored by SoE and brad is associated.So EQ haters take a bash at it.
There is very little information out on the game for anyone fanboy or troll to make a proper judgement .
I dislike DnL for 2 reason.. I got a pretty god pc system. the usual ati 1900xtx amd dual 2.4 giga 2 giga ram and so on... i've always kept my system up and running and clean.. I never complain about a game before i have checked several times that the error isn't on my side. But DnL well unplayable.. it stinks more than a trashcan on a hot sommerday .. The game was a horror show.. im not talking content im talking performance..
Now i waited a few patches since i could clearly se i was not the only one with these issues.. now the problem wasn't fixed at all. Now i asked for a refound. And i got an answer 2 days later..not fast but ok.. its a busy would and was redirected to another staff section or whatever where i had to wait for 2 more days for an answer. And the answer was to post some text which was included where i clearly stated that i wanted a refund and what my email and account name was.
I did that.. got an answer 1 day later with the same mail as the day before as if i havent posted the what they told me correctly. Now i send them an email back with the information they asked for in the precise way they wanted it.. And believe me if i didnt get the freaking mail again.. Must admit i ticked off.. Replyed with an angry mail but still respectfull and i got a answer 2 days later that a refund has been issued through that company they use to let players pay.. But the funny thing is.. those money never made it to my bank.. and now im told that the refund is issued and the problem isn't theirs..

Aye sweetie, its another dodge and run on Farlans part. Call your credit card company. Tell them the problems. tell them the responses you have gotten and tell them it has not been done. You can even tell them all of the other ppl having problems and the stalling tactics they are employing there. Wont take them long to issue you a refund/chargeback on their side. Put the ball back in Farlans court. Dont let them play with your money.

Exactly. They have been stalling ppl too many times, too many ways. You shouldnt have any trouble with it at all.

There is just a one time, very reasonable, fee ($28 US) to play forever with no monthly fee. A dedicated fan base are playing and providing feedback. From what I can tell, the Roma Victor team is being completely upfront about what is in the game, what isn't, and what the priorities are. Even if Roma Victor and D&L had the same fucked up gameplay, the honesty alone would set them apart.
I plan on trying Roma Victor, it seems like an intereting attemp at a historical simulation. The reviews from the beta players have been middling to high. It actually does have potential.
I have been keeping an eye on RV and the forums here. There are problems to be sure (like the big ass memory leak on launch), but even the haters are not telling us how they can't log in, or only get 1-5 FPS on the machine. Even they are admitting that the devs have worked on the mem leak and for the most part fixed it. I won't be picking up RV for a while yet, but there is really no way you should compair it to Dark and Train Wreck.

Please don't make one sweeping statement and put the Roma Victor devs in the same category as the DnL devs. While RV still has a ways to go before I would consider playing it, it has a talented, communicative dev team.
