Wow! that AOL representative was being so abnoxious to the customer. If I was paying for some crap that I didn't want or use anymore, I would expect them to cancel it upon my request. I would not mind being asked several questions about why because I know they just want some feedback but they do not have the right to refuse you around 10 times and act like an immature child to you.

AOL made money because they sent out their cheap little disks to newbies to the internet.

I remember when my dad canceled AOL back in 1997 or sometime around there.
I can sorta remember it..., He got put on hold, wanted to cancel, got put on hold, wanted to cancel, they put him on hold again. They gave him some bull crap, he broke the phone.
We got away from the torment, but we still get their junkmail sent to us anywhere we try to run, since then I've lived in 3 houses, and they still find their way.

I moved three states away and once I turned 18 they started sending ME stuff.

WOW thats disgusting, AOL fired him but I think they did that for PR reasons and probably actualy train their CSR's to do whatever they can to milk as much money as possible. One question though, if you are paying fro AOL with a CC can you just cancel the payments from the CC? If so thats all I would have done.
