Better have more content, because if not, this game is a real let down.

Groovy.

Having just left the CabalOnline beta test forum after writing a vehement post against this game because of the idiot IP ban policy they are pursuing, I find it ironic that I am posting here in defence of this game in retort to your trite, one-sentence post. This is a closed beta of an established game. It is a test of new equipment, basically. Of COURSE there is far more content, silly person. CO is a fantastic game and shows plenty of promise. It features more character customisation than the majority of Korean MMOs I have encountered and, in the event, who cares about customisation, anyways, if all the customisable character models look fugly anyways?! DDO, EQ2, Western RPG art really is horrid. The West is afraid of it's sexuality, so it avoids fan service to a fault.

I'm more concerned with the revenue model that the creators of this game are pursuing than the game itself. The game is fantastic. IP banning for Regional Franchising is a Sin. THAT is why many of the NA-based closed-betatesters have washed their hands of this title. Hitler syndrome at its best: fabulous war machine, pathetic management.

not to be rude but if you played the closed beta and actually read the cabal forums its already stated all we have seen is 10% of what the final game will have to offer I myself have no real issues with the game itself aside from a nagging feeling about the camera view but thats slated to be able to pull back further at lvl 60ish I believe.  The games been a ton of fun thus far but being an NA player im SOL since the IP ban (which by the way went off so well that most of the globe was ip banned LOL) as with the previous poster my nearing hostility with EStsoft is the false pretenses that we NA players were hooked into CB with and how info is very very slowly being leaked out as to what will happen to us now thats we've helped them get this thiing rolling and they no longer have need of us in the eu cb.

well so much for signup for NA on the 10th and so much for my willingness to continue to support either this game or this ocmpany.  It is my greatest hope in regards to both that  ESTsoft has just commited suicide by their actions and will fail miserably because of their action or inaction.  By banning all non Eu ips they discovreed today that they just wiped out 90% of the people that were testing the game.  Go ahead and proxy if you will but I, for one, am pulling out, leaving the ship before its completely under water as it were.  Im so thoroughly disappointed in the way the non eu players were treated and the lack of good ocmmunication from the start that I will vehemently steer everyone i know even considering this game as far away from it as possible.  There comes a time when that one extra straw actually will break the camels back, and theyve done that with me. So, enjoy the game if you will but if youre not eu, id recommend you stay away.

I was awaiting my decision to see how the (ficticious) NA beta thing went, but I am in total agreement with you on this, Monk. I am certain that when I signed up for the beta, and was invited, that they KNEW I was from NA, not Eu... and to pull this kinda thing after they bragged up such a successful  beta, pfft, the only reason it was successful is the NA numbers.

Sad thing is, is it was a nice change of pace from the typical MMO, and probably had a chance, but I really have lost all interest after the crap way they treated all their potential NA customers. ESTsoft, good luck, I certainly will steer clear of ANY titles you attempt to put out, or have any involvement with.

Funny thing I heard this morning...

Sony has their greasy hands in the EU release and if that's the case we
may see a release in the US and if sony has their hands in it you can
bet that alot of anti-SOE folks are going to steer way clear of this
game as they enjoy changing the core game play of their games although
if it is a licensence they shouldn't be able too.  Although most people
I know won't care and will not buy it lol...

In the quest for more money this company has seemingly done quite a few things so far to turn off almost an entire continent of gamers (NA)  In my mind, and that of several of the NA (beta)players I have talked to since this whole IP ban nonsense began, there is very little this game and those behind it could do at this point to bring me back into being  part of it.  I mean they make a press release about these staggering numbers of people signing up for open beta but fail to clue us in to the fact that 80% or more of them are not euro players and that, therefore,  they wont be allowed to get in.  Come on now, shame shame.  If i wanted to deal with a company that does nothing but spit out lies and deal in misinformation and uses its player base purely to further their own ends with little or no regard for them, theres a few established companies waiting in line ahead of this one.

My understanding is that this is ESTsofts first mmo. They did some app stuff, but this is thier first game. Something tells me that after this fiasco, it'll also be thier last.
