Seriously, I have been playing this game for about a year and a half, and i have loved every minuit of it. Even when i have died. You can call me a fanboy or whatever you like i wont care cuz its probably true :P
This game probably has the steepest learning curve of all the games out there, it also has the biggest potential in roleplay, you make it want you want to make it, if your not willing to enjoy somthing then your not going to enjoy it, simple.
Heres a few hints, Unless you join the Brotherhood of Shadows or Mercinaries of the Blood, first place you should visit is Manhattan, if you know how to choose which entry point to go in go to Trade Center. If not, look around for a large glass ledge with alot of terminals and usualy quite a few people.
Second tip would be if your brand new... pay attention to the tutorial, it can teach you alot. And when you pass the Medical Terminal, buy clone insurance. That way, you wont perma die and have to remake your character.
Number 3, dont hate the game because you die alot, theres alot of reasons why somone might kill you, i would say most of the time its because that person or that faction hates the faction that your in and just wants to kill you. Other reasons may be because you pissed somone off that they put you on thier personal KoS (Kill on Sight) list. The final reason would be they are just a plain ganker, somone who kills for fun.
Final hint, respect members of your facton especialy if you dont you will probably end up being rouge and being kicked out of the faction. Which isnt a good way to start again. I recomend reading the faction discriptions while your waiting for your game to update (which takes quite some time depending on which verion you download) and then roleplay that faction to its max, remember, its a roleplaying game first, and a first person shooter second.
I said the last tip was final, but if you find yourself alone, click on the faction chat tab in the chat box and ask if anyone is online in there, if noone answers, ask again in 5 minuits or so. You will eventualy find somone. Each faction has people who will help you in the game, but ill let you guys work that out on your own. The best part of this game is finding things out on your own. Dont let people take that enjoyment away from you. Dont let them buy your wepons or give you money. Do it yourself and you with have a much larger sence of pride that you are working hard for the faction you are in.
One last word, Good luck out there.

Negative, i am just giving you my opinion. Im not forcing you to agree with it, or even telling you to play the game. Im just giving helpfull advice to people who are interested in joining the FoM comunity.
Seriously, if you dont like the game, why do you troll the FoM forums?
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and may speak it out on his behalf, which does no reflect the overall standpoint of FoM, just his point of view or perspective.
You can start by not trolling in the forums and not making a terrible impression for one who did not experience it quite well enough....tbh
