Looking for something new...

Hey guys looking for a little advice on a new game.  I have been reading reviews and I just can't decide on a new game.  I played EQ1 for a few years and then moved on to EQ2 the day it went live.  I left EQ2 and went to WoW after the first big EQ2 nerf.  I played WoW for a long while but it got so bloody boring I went back to EQ2.  Looking at EQ2 now things have changed so much.  All the mobs are gone in every zone lol.  They really bent to the will of the casual player I guess.  Anyway not having any fun with these games and am looking for something to get the juices flowing.  I am a fairly active gamer (around 3 hours a day) and enjoy a mix of PvP and raiding.  I have always been a grinder but did enjoy the quest oriented lvling in WoW.  I would also like a game where I can solo a large amount of the time.  I play at odd hours as work keeps me guessing from day to day.  The only time I can group consistently is on the weekends.  Any reccomendations you guys could give me would be great.  Thanks

I know exactly what you mean. I too am bored out of my mind. I played EQ1 and EQ2 and have played WoW and bored of them all. I went about and tried EVE, Saga of Ryzom, DAOC, and of course going back to SWG ...all have bored me totally.

Others may tell you to try EVE or Saga of Ryzom, but I find both of them boring after a week. Nothing really sparked my interest with Ryzom. I haven't tried Lineage 2 yet but it doesn't have a free trial and I'm skeptical. I like to try games out first before paying for them.

Right now I'm fumbling about in these lame Korean open beta's until Vanguard or Age of Conan releases. *shrug*

I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

joejccva told you to stay away from EVE but i think you should give it a change. it has a free trail. so try it out, who know you might end up liking it.

Yea I wasn't really bashing EVE, it just wasn't for me.

    To the OP:

Yea EVE is definately different. Make sure you actually pay attention to the tutorials. The game has a slight learning curve to it. :) You may enjoy it. I didn't really care for it too much but thats just an opinion.

Give the free trial a go and see what happens.

Try Guildwars, it is online, constantly having more expansions released (every 6 months) and it has no monthly fee!  plus, it is a wonderful game and I think you'd enjoy it.  I would reccomend buying the original guildwars first, and then buying factions

One of the previous posters mentioned Age of Conan, its not out yet but I would recommend that one. It is a mix of massive (potentially hundreds of players at once) pvp battles and genuine, no B.S. rat tail hunting PvE. It also features a system where you controll the swings of your weapon directly instead of the computer doing it while you take a nap. The community that has risen up on its forums so far has been a mature one, with none of the massive flaming one finds on for example the WoW forums.
