is it true that all weapons/armor/jewelry is all crafted by players and nothing is dropped from mobs?  Basically, what I'm asking is if one has no interst in crafting, what other ways are there to make money in the game? and is it possible to get good equip w/o crafting it or purchasing it from a player?  Thank you.

    yeah everything is player crafted. you can cutup yer kills to collect crafting resources(eyes,hide,bones,claws etc) you can sell. You can also harvest resources from the ground to sell to npc's or other players. So yeah you can make money and not craft its just not as easy and by not crafting you miss out on a HUGE part of the game experience.

    It's NOT true that "nothing" is dropped by mobs. Mobs drop crafting materials. There are different types of crafting materials, and there are diggable (in the ground) versions and mob-dropped versions. For example, you can dig resins out of the ground for armor lining. Or, you can get them off of a creature that drops skins.

    Each resource type has different characteristics. So, it's possible to create SOME armor from just "dug" (from the ground) resources, but certain types will only be really craftable with mob-dropped resources.

    You can "quarter" (and take the drops from) every mob you kill. Those drops can be sold to crafters if they are decent drops, or can be sold to the NPC vendors for a decent price. My character made several hundred thousand dappers (the currency unit) on the newbie island just by selling tons of mob drops that she had no use for (since I was mostly working just 2 types of crafting).

    Thus, you will not be broke if you don't craft. Crafters who are not good at combat will need you to gather dropped resources for them, and will pay you nicely for it. And even if you have no player to sell it to the NPCs will buy it from you for a totally reasonable rate.

    all the best stuff is player created

    you will however make a crapton of money just hunting and easily be able to equip yourself

    the best way for non crafters to work is to join a guild and give your mob drops to the crafter in the guild, which usually leads to the crafter giving you the items for free.
