Critic: Worst game ever?

well i have played runscpae for 1 year and that was 6 years ago. This game is perfect for good starting mmorpg gamers thats about 8-10 years. however wen you exceed that age you shouldn't waster your time with this game. I would rate this 6.3 cuz of its average graphics. Yes i know its free but there are other free mmorpg with better graphs than this. The whole game is average but what kinda ticks me is the upside for members. Free users get nothing.. So for those 14+ people, pls start playing better games.

Have you ever looked into the game again since?
THe amount of quests, minigames, features is a bit higher now (10k + items, 22 skills, player houses, 14 minigames etc...)
It might be worth a look TODAY...

yes i have looked at it "today" and i have to say that for people who are willing to spend lots of times playing this game should find it "fun". they have upgraded a lot of sht but the lack of the mapping sytem dissapoints me.

my whole post wasnt to make fun of the graphs. i did say that it would be perfect for those people that wants

to start playing mmorpgs. This game has a good gameplay for exmaple fishing and thieving. I think it was

runscape that was one of the original games that thought of fishing and smithing by youself and agility.

i think you are wrong about runescape sure i am a member and 15 years old but that doesnt mean i think i am better then free players or to old to play runescape try playing it again as a member.

I rate you 1/10 as a critic for the following reasons: 1. Your poor english skills and 2. for rating a game based purely on graphics.

Runescape has over 100,000 subscribers last time i checked and thats a very high number for a small independant company like that. 80% of the new mmo's coming out today can only dream of getting that many players. Why you ask? Simply because runescape is fun, theres lots of people, and lots of updates of new content.

iReki has a good point. He wasnt basing the game on its graphics either. He was basing it on its lack of content in a mmorpg. It is free of course and that it why he reccomends it to beginners of the mmorpg genre. I played this game alot 4 or 5 years ago when ever it was realesed and now im onto bigger more developed games. I would say to all those that play this game have fun, new people to mmorpgs try it, its free. But i think id say ogre island was worse then this. eww

          Runescape is probably one of the best games to start with if you want to get into MMO's. However there are many, far better free MMO's out there such as RoseOnline, Flyff, and Conquer. One of the biggest problems I had with runescape was the community. Most of the community was normal and nice, but there were enough asshats to ruin the community. Now i'm not saying i'm judgeing the game entirly on its community, but its one of the major reasons i quit. Whenever i asked for help i would get several whispers and a few people would tell me "STFU NUB!". I did make alot of friends but they couldnt always answer my questions. Another problem i had was that alot of the time i found my self doing the same thing over and over and over again, now I did do quests, and the quests in runescape are probably some of the best online MMO quests i have ever done. But other then quests, the occasional drop party, and a PK trip everynow and then, I was basically forced into playing for hours to raise my skills. Probably the biggest reason i quit was i found a better game and played that instead. I got Warcraft III battlechest and got hooked on that game for months. Now i did go back to runescape for a few weeks but went back to WCFT. Then I got WoW and have played that since. 

          The minigames in RS were probably one of the funnest things they made. However, most of the time I went to the games room I could not get a game. I did play with my friends but they got bored of them and went back to playing RS. Castle Wars, however, was a load of fun, but the long wait times and frequent nubs brought it down for me. I admit I have never tried carpentry, I was going to renew my membership and give RS another try, but several of my friends (all were level 100+ and had millions of GP to burn and all their skills were very high) told me it was crap, and not worth it.

           Runescape is a FREE game, so obviously it has a TON (2 million) of subscribers. But WoW has over 4 million subscribers, EQ has millions of subscribers, even GW, which is a 50$ game, has millions. Several other free MMO's have millions of subscribers. Runescape is an alright game, but the only reason people play is because its extreamly addicting. All of my friends were hardcore, non-stop runescape players, but when I showed them better games they stopped and moved on. 

           To this day,  i still kick my self for wasting my time on that game for two years.

I like runescape I started playing a few years ago, I still think that it is one of the best RPG that there is people that could say otherwise but that is what I personally think, The graphics are not really that bad at all, in this game there are many things to do its one of those games that you keep playing because its so addictive. The reason being that it's not just one of those hack and slash games like flyff, you can do what ever you want in this game, it's what I would call a mmorpg, "O" standing for open.... duh.... you do not even have to fight in the game if you do not want to, unless you count totorial island, you could be a pure fighter if you want, I still do play runescape not very often but I still do every now and then and I'm 16, I have been a member off & on, and to the people that say that well the members get everything, how do you think Jagex manages all the sever space that they have to pay for, not by the free players, they do get some money off of the advertisements that they have but only  the free players see them, and membership is only 5$ a month, 60$ a year, it's worth it. Jagex just came out not to long ago with an update that was for the members and for f2p players for those boots the rainbow ones or the other ones. ALso there are worse rpgs like for example battle-on/adventure quest, not sure if you can even call that a rpg, i like battle-on too......But runescape is a very good game.

any way i like this game im 20 years old and i actually have a life i go out smoke pots drink with my friends and have a girl friend who is actualy attactive who also plays the game  but the game has low graphics because its easier for low grade comps to play and also members do have way to many more upgrades then f2p



anyway its a good game and people all over the world play it

They do have bad graphics... but the gameplay is good. Check into the game they added ALOT to it. But...free players don't get much anything...1 update a year i belive. But it is still a good game...They just need better graphics(though hard using java)

All of you people that say that runescape is bad have played on RS-Classic, if you want to play the new runescape you'll love escpesccially if you're a member with 40+ combat lvl because then you can play Pest Control which is a great mini-game(especially on world 78), or even play castle wars at a high level and you will have tons of fun just beating up the noobs that are tring to get the decrotive armor.  Overall runescape is a great game, and while WoW has 4 million suscribers, that is because of the press and advertising that it has, Runescape has none of these and still has 2 million people playing it.

RS is an ok game 4 kids who want 2 start playin MMOs. But it gets boring after a while 2 some of the older ppl. I played 4 almost a year, quit a few months ago and am gonna get started on Anarchy Online once i get my new laptop (not the 1 i used as my avatar pic)

You can't exactly say it's the perfect game for kids starting the MMO's  and adults get bored with it after a while, because it's not always true.

1. You don't know what a game is, and i know what im talking about, i spoilt 1 year of my life with this 'game'
2. those 'awesome quests' aren't awesome at all, its only a wast of time, except for dragon slayer quest
3. 'huge selection'. come on, most games have changing stats on gears and still more items than noobscape
4. a massive amount of n00bs to get irritated by
5. thats the same in other games, or when theres only p2p, you've got a lot of ways for making money, or even buy ingame money with real money ( well runescape might have that as well, but its a waste).
