Worth upgrading?

I own a Dell Dimension 3000 which I am happy with besides gaming. No
AGP slot and only 2 ram slots. I'm stuck with Intel Extreme (not)
graphics and it isn't working. I bought Guild Wars tonight and I can't
play properly until I upgrade my video card.

The games I'd like to play are:

Diablo 2 (Works fine on this card)

Guild Wars (Crashes when I do certain things)

Titan Quest (In the mail)

CS:S

Battlefield 2 (Not mandatory, would be nice though)

So, I am wondering if I should just upgrade to a nice PCI card or if it
worth replacing the motherboard to get AGP. I kept the AGP card from an
old PC in the closet, it is old but still better than the onboard I
have now. Something like ATI Radeon 128mb.

If I switch to an AGP mobo, what will I have to change? One person told
me that the screws are different or something weird like that, so I
would need a new case, but I have not verified this.

The Dell is a year old and it has the following specs.

Intel P4 3.0gHz w/ HT

2x HDDs, 160gb + 40gb

512mb ram, I need to find the speed.

Thanks in advance.

if you have the money , get a 8X AGP mobo and a Gforce 6600 128 MB , they are cheap now becose its semi old

im using a gigabyte 8X AGP mobo with gforce 6600 ( not GT , normal ) with 1 GIG ram , im very happy with it , i play everything no problems.

when chosing the gforce or ati grafics card , becarefull with what kind of GPU FAN comes in it , for the same price , just a diferent brand , you can get a crapy fan or a godly zalman

my gforce 6600 is galaxy brand , it was about 100 dollars one year ago , and comes with a zalman ::::02::

Actually, AGP is being phased out, so if you DO get a new mobo, make sure it has PCI-e compatability. It's a bit more expensive because it's new, but you'll be able to upgrade that later on down the road.

i think its better to change the mobo when you actualy change the grafics card too , if you are going to use a AGP card , just buy a cheap AGP mobo

If youre on a budget dont waste money on AGP. PCI-E mobos & graphics cards are out now at budget prices and are potentially twice as fast and give the futureproofing.

Actually intel just came out with a brand new processor, I reccomend custom building yourself a machine because it will be cheaper and you will be able to get what you want according to YOUR  budjet.
