GW and GW expansion questions

Hello everyone.
This is my first post on the forums, but i've been reading the forums alot

Anyways, I installed Guild wars when they released that factions expansion, but the weird thing was, i havent bought the faction expansion in the stores, but still i could play the 2 new classes.
So my question is;
Do i HAVE to buy factions expansion to play it?, or can i just simply download it? (with guildwars downloader ofc)

I dont know if this has been said before, but im too lazy to search for it.

Initially, just before official release they let all Prophecies players make characters on the game and play around with Factions.  I would imagine this is what you are talking about.  Was some free-beta testing for them.

Other option is that you actually bought Factions, and didn't buy Prophecies.

Other than that, you shouldn't be able to play both unless you have purchased each of them, and entered their keys in.

Hi my first day and im posting lol

i highly dought that you can play the new people. what u need to do is get a fations cd key however you want to get it, enter it in. and then play with the 2 new people.

when i bought the game it did the same and that is what i did.
