thanks alot for your reply Raserei.
I think ill go with WoW cuz i really enjoy ur review of the games and it looks like WoW is better in term of gameplay. Also, i just got back from internet cafe and saw alot of people playing WoW , they were kinda higher lvls than i was when i played for free. (i was like lvl 20 or so) and i was like omg i wanna play this game again. (seeing horses and 400-500 hit damage lol haha was just fantastic :P .
So ill prolly go for WoW then.
THANKS ALOT !
:D
WoW is a good 6 month PVE game. It lacks longterm attraction because of it's simplification but it's worth playing short term.
EQ2 isn't worth playing at all.

I felt the same way when I played EQ2 at launch, but now I am back with EQ2 well into my second month, and feeling like everything is still new and interesting.
I may have had a similar experience had I made a character on a WoW PVP server, I don't know. As it is now I would take EQ2 over WoW, its a more in depth game, but has managed to take much of what WoW has to offer and incorporate it successfully.
I even feel as though I've been levelling faster in EQ2 than I ever did in WoW, I'm not sure if thats possible, but it sure feels that way.
WoW definately does just about everything right, they do what they do very well, but for some reason it feels empty to me, or superficial.
I must also say I am biased toward EQ2 graphics as well, not at first, simply because my system wasn't good enough to enjoy them.
I'll say this WoW may have killed SWG, but it improved EQ2.

But it's not a nonstop grind, you have to admit that much.
EQ2 is.
WoW is pretty good, but i'm not the biggest fan of that Genre of MMOS, personally.

Eq2 has much better staying power. You max your level there is still so much to do.WoW starts off better then EQ2 but as you level up thats when you notice the difference and EQ2 moves ahead.
Crafting is more in depth in EQ2.
Pvp none is a winner.EQ2 pvp is more skill/class based and less dependant on your gear.In WoW if you see someone in raid gear and you are wearing your green/blue armor kiss your arse goodbye.
However,EQ2 pvp server is an annoying place to level due to been constantly ganked, its more level based then WoW,it has some classes that can one shot kill you.
Overall i played both for over a year and would say EQ2 comes out better.I still occasionally play EQ2 as well but seems to have no desire to play WoW(might come back to see the expansion).
I've played both games at one point or another, and I've flipped back and forth between them multiple times. EQ2 is the only one that keeps me coming back. I've played several characters in WoW, and the highest I ever got was to level 40 as a Paladin. That's when I first got bored. I didn't really feel like I was accomplishing anything, I felt like I was just doing the same thing over and over again in a new zone every so many levels, and ALL the quests were simple "kill x number or y mobs" or "bring this item to x NPC," and none of them ever led anywhere. I stopped playing and went back to EQ2, only to come back about 3 months later and leave again for EQ2 after less than a month.
To me EQ2 is just more fun, especially once you get past level 20. Scratch that. ONLY after you get past level 20. They've done a lot to try to make the first 20 levels more fun by taking out the archetype system, but there are still remnants of it left. You really don't get any cool class-specific skills until around level 20. Even today, with a 66 Paladin and after playing since the game came out, I absolutely hate making alts because I view the first 20 levels as nothing more than crap I have to get through to have fun. Luckily these levels don't take that long, especially if you've played the game before, but it's a strong deterrent to many people. Once you get there though, the game opens up tremendously. The game becomes much more fun, there's more to do, and there's more options. Quests beyond that point tend to be more involving (although not always), and many times you'll run into quest lines that start as solo quests, progress to group quests, and end up as fully fledged raid quests (even at the lower levels). Generally I think if a person can make it past the first 20 levels, and they actually like EQ2's general format (many people don't), they are golden for the rest of the game. Very few people reach level cap in EQ2 and then quit. There's still a lot to do in EQ2 when you hit the top, and that's one of the reasons I like it so much. I can't speak much for WoW's end game because I never got there, but EQ2's is pretty damn fun.
Basically WoW starts off much more smoothly and is much more fun in the initial levels than EQ2, and I think that's largely the reason so many people intially left EQ2 for WoW when the games first came out (among other things, many of which have since been changed). But at least in my opinion, EQ2 has more to offer once you really start gaining levels.
Schutzbar - Human Warrior - Windrunner Alliance - World of Warcraft
Nihilanth - Kerra Paladin - Blackburrow - EverQuest II
XBL Gamertag - Eagle15GT
Oh really???
Tell me the difference here
I tried WOW, and the first two "quests" are
1. Go kill 10 wolves
2. Go kill 10 thieves
I tried EQ2, and the first two "quests" are
1. Go kill 10 goblins
2. Go kill 10 bats
Both games' "quests" are the same as grinding. You "talk" to a npc(in fact just read a short text", then go find the place where those wolves or thieves or bats or goblins located...then keep killing them on the same spot until you meet the requirements. When you finish, you find yourself standing where you started. And the mobs you were sent to kill are still there respawn with fast rate like nothing happened. And you return to the npc for reward. Then go pick up another "quest"...and so on
Is there really a difference? Is this really no longer grinding???
As for the guy who must pick 1 of these two games, the PvE really have no difference. EQ2 obivously have better graphics. Neither PvP is good imo.
But each to his own.
But it's not a nonstop grind, you have to admit that much.
EQ2 is.
WoW is pretty good, but i'm not the biggest fan of that Genre of MMOS, personally.
When I first played CoH it basically was a non-stop grind, and it got repitive faster than any other game. It has its good points too don't get me wrong, its just that it was a game with only one layer, although with the addition of PVP I'm sure thats not the case today.
I played EQ2 at launch and you're right... it was a grind. Basically u quested to lvl 10, did Black burrow to level 18ish, then stormhold, to level 25, then you went to RoV, then RE, then I cancelled, because my game was the same dungeons day in and day out.
The game has changed alot.
With the AA line, easier xp, less debt, no shard run, and PVP its alot of fun. I swear I must be leveling faster than I ever did in WoW and that surprises me, I almost think its a little too fast... I go out and get some awesome gear and it seems soon after I have to replace it... kind of annoying, I've been considering turning off XP just for a while.

Imo:
WOW Vs EQ2
Classes Crafting professions
Combat PVE
PVP Housing
Seemless world
Look
scrap that.
I'd personally like WOW better if it had EQ2's crafting system and housing. As WOW doesn.t then i choose EQ2.
