Do you think that Mythic should have given it's efforts to developing Dark Age of Camelot 2 or you feel that WAR Online is better project to undertake?
I really like DAOC and would like to have seen a newer version in the works. I am hoping dearly that WAR online has a lot of the elements that made Dark Age so good.

As far as a DAoC 2 goes, Mythic said more than once they'd never make a DAoC 2 as long as there was interest in DAoC....or something like that. While I'd love to see the further development of the DAoC storyline, I'd prefer they did something like simply remake the DAoC they have, take a year or two off from releasing xpacs, and just update every aspect of the game, then "re-release" it. Actually merge the old servers, create a bunch of new ones, try some new things, and fix all the things with the game that are out of whack right now. Maybe even do something like release new servers that move the whole storyline forward in time a few years...so you could still play DAoC but also play the continuation of the storyline on a different server. I don't know, there's so much potential, and while I'm dissappointed there's no DAoC 2, I feel a DAoC 2.0/re-release would work better than creating an entirely new game.

Yeah I hate the "here is yet another expansion" line.
While the idea is there to fix some graphics and gameplay issues, it fails to atract a new crowd into the game. That in turn creates another problem because while the game world is expanded the population is not. This creates literally "ghost" areas in the game. (Even in Gareth are present)
Too bad there is not ONE mmo out there with the class variety that DAOC has, 40+ classes to choose from are great compared to the cookie cutters that we see nowadays.
I am really hoping that if I scratched on the WAR logo, I would see a DAOC 2 there instead. But lets wait and see.
Putting aside that, here is what DAOC 2 would accomplish:
1. Piss people off for going back on their word to never do a DAOC2.
2. Piss the current players off because after years they would need to switch games and start over.
3. Piss the current players off because if they did not switch, DAOC would have few people left and probably little to no development.
Population issues are always going to be a problem with mmorpgs. After an initial release, after about 12-18 months they peak. Very few mmorpgs have avoided this trend. The problem is how to attact new players and keep the current players over a long period of time. People want expansions - DAOC did a poll on this and most DAOC players want one. You have to constantly add new content for the current players. Doing so spreads out the world and the population. People tend not to go for the "old" games even with mmorpgs and instead wait for the next release. This makes attracting new customers a problem. This is a problem with mmorpgs and development and nothing that has to do with game decisions.
