Expansion packs in the wrong order

I know I'm probably an exception here since I don't play EQ2 that much anymore due to real life and the highest lvl character I have is lvl 40, but shouldn't EoF been the second expansion pack instead of the third?  Why two high lvl expansions before an all lvl expansion?  I think that was a huge mistake on SOE part.

They should have taken an example from EQ1 when they released the Ruins of Kunark.  After that EQ1 was huge because it gave a new starting city and tons of new low to high lvl zones with great xp.  The game was already big, but that expansion launched it to a whole new level.

Was there really not that much high lvl content that they needed to add two expansion packs just to get it up to par?

Then don't even get me started on why they feel the need to release expansion packs with places we have already seen in EQ1.  I know it's Everquest, but I don't want to see the same places with a facelift.  I want totally new and orignal content.  But hey that's another topic all on it's own.

I see your point, but as many MMO's companies do they listen to the higher level players concerns first.  For the first two expansions the high level folks were really pushing that they wanted new content.  Do I think SOE should have added more for lower level people? Yes.  But I also think the expansions were released at a time that your main character should have been at the level to take part in them.  Ths isint true for everyone of course but MANY people were capped and looking for more.

As far as EoF goes I'm reallly happy to see all new content coming for everyone.  Mainly so I can roll an alt and not have to mess around in the same zones I've been in with other characters a million times.

As far seeing zold zones from Eq1, again the majority of players seem to like the idea of revisitng old zones with some new twists.  Hasn't really bothered me too much.

I guess your right.  I think my biggest gripe would be lack of starting cities and the EoF would have at least opened up another one.  Plus I probably would have played more and made more time to play if the second or even the third expansion was an all lvl one.  Maybe I'll start playing more again when EoF comes out.

Hopefully the old zones of EQ1 will be so different you won't really tell that much that they are like the old ones.  We'll see.
