I am obsessed with MMORPGs, I've played both WoW and FFXI, but I need something more. DAOC looks like a neat MMORPG, and may be my last hope. I have a few questions.
Do you know where I can get Epic editon? Does the EpicEdition come with all I need?
How many active subcribers are there?
How would you rate the graphics out of 10?
How long does it take to level to the MAX?
What are the good things about DAOC? As well as the bad?
Thanks, and can someone give me a link for a 14 day trial? thanks in advance

1. Your best bet for finding the epic edition would be Wal-Mart, EBgames, or Gamestop. And to my knowledge it comes with everything you'd need. (edit) I double checked, epic comes with the original game and every expansion.
2. At peak times there's maybe 15-20,000 or so spread across the american servers. A little over 2000 per server/cluster at prime time. check out www.camelotherald.com for the current numbers online.
3. Personally I love the updated graphics of DAoC, the animations could use some work, but they have some very talented artists. It's not cartoony and over stylized. Check out the screenshots here and on the herald they are a good representation of the graphics. Maybe an 8 or 9 out of 10. I prefer them over just about anything else on the market at the moment.
4. The max level means different things to different people. As a veteran player I can level to 50 in a matter of a couple weeks, but if you stop and smell the roses, hit the lower level rvr battlegrounds, get into the storyline and run quests, it could easily turn into a journey of months. It depends on if you want to experience the lower level content or just get to 50. I'd recommend at least going to the lower level battlegrounds to pick up some rvr skills. From there it would take you years to reach the highest realm ranks you can gain from RvR although it only takes a few months of work to get a few ranks under your belt.
5. I love the background to the game. The three realm conflict based on the lore of Albion/Hibernia/Midgard. It's cool to see camelot, hadrian's wall, tir na nog...and the storylines have become really detailed. If you run the epic/champion quests and really explore there's a lot of depth to the game. The pvp/rvr is unmatched by any other mmorpg I've played. From the lowbie battlegrounds to the frontiers, especially on the classic style servers, it is a lot of fun once you get the hang of it. As for the bad parts, the pve is not the best, I enjoy it now, but it isn't perfect, the normal servers require a lot more work to equip a character, and bot accounts are almost necessary. The game is 5 years old, and it shows it's age sometimes, even though the artwork/graphics are updated.
