What did they do how can they make such a perfect game crap. what was in that update? Blizzard created World of Warcraft . . . SOE saw the huge success and had to copy it, and SWG would never be the same.
Even Everquest II has taken some things from WoW, only to a much lesser extent, and EQ2 is a similar type of game when compared to World of Warcraft, whereas Star Wars Galaxies was unlike any other mmorpgs.  Now SWG is just like any other, and not even as good as most.

    And who did WoW copy?

I really loved SWG before the major changes to the game.  The character development and classes were unique and innovative.  I enjoyed PvP.  It needed work but I had fun with it.  The game system was different than anything else out there.  I'm sure there are plenty of people who like it the way it is now.  But there are plenty who don't.  And I'm one of 'em.

Go ahead and live in your fantasy worlds, SWG was screwed from the beginning...thats why it was changed. The game never even began to live up to its potential. I was there from early beta to about 6 months into live.

Raph Coster had no buisness being in charge of the game from the start. Lucas and SOE are just trying to fix a ship that never was afloat, cant blame them...if you liked it, you are in the minority. And to say that the game  was full of ppl before the changes started is nothing more then a denial of the reality by handfull of fanbois.

    WoW copied Blizzards other games.

Its a direct copy of Diablo except theres flashy-gumby colored skins on everything. They even have socketing now. Unbelievable.

Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!

Oh really, Blizzard had another MMO out that used most of the concepts of EQ 1 and some from DAoC in them?? How the hell did I miss that!

    Just a few questions...

Why did it take you so long to ask about this game, considering that its changes have been massively hated on by everyone for a LONG time?

And despite your "addiction" why did you break off all ties from the game(including reading about news and updates)?  Wouldnt it have been just as possible to moderate your time spent on the game?  or even take a break for a few months?

Could it be possible that you got bored with it?  And I hate to snoop around in peoples past posts... but it seems you can't pay to play mmorpgs, so i guess thats why you quit.

You've even had various posts in the past asking for a game to play... if swg was as great as you remember it then... why didn't you go play it at that time rather then now?

I'm sorry but this seems to be a trolls post to me...

Brian you REALLY need to check your facts before posting.
WoW took very very little from Diablo... hardly anything actually.  Even the WoW developers specifically stated that they took ideas from EQ, DAOC and a couple other MMORPG's and put them into their game.

As a matter of fact those folks that accuse EQ2 of "stealing ideas from WoW" have it backwards as well.  EQ2 didn't take any ideas from WoW... the two games are SIMILAR but they're similar because both games are spawned from EQ1.  EQ2 is a 'sequal' and WoW is a 'copy'.   PVP in the two games isn't even remotely similar, EQ2 does things very differently.  PVE isn't very similar either.  The two games progress very differently as well.  They share similarities, and I'm sure some of the things in WoW have given the EQ2 devs ideas as have things in EQ2 given the WoW devs ideas.

Bottom line:  Both games copied from the same source:  EQ1 (and a few other titles).  But mostly from EQ1.  That's why they're similar.

I forget who posted it but:
As to the idiotic statement that original SWG was anything like EQ?  That person absolutely, obviously, did not play original SWG.  SWG was nothing like EQ other than the fact that it was a 3D Graphical MMORPG.  Combat was different, the quest/mission system was different, etc.  SWG was written by former UO devs.  In fact many people considered the original SWG to be UO's successor.
