Why do people think something is official when it is not even displayed on their respective PRESS pages?

Nah, I was refering to the other post you made that was considered a fake. Yet, now we see this annoucncement that confirms many points of your initial post. Its just a funny world. Just showing a little support.

I think one of the biggest factors at this point is that its still on the forums. It hasnt been debunked or deleted. Thats usually a pretty big indicator. Of course since the official link to the fourms are down then perhaps they are ignoring them for the time being.
Guess we will find out.

I think you joking, just in case, good one! I think he was referring to Smedster having several posting sprees on the Fires of Heaven message board. They are an old EQ uberguild that's permeated other games. I believe Smedley believes that posting with the "hardcore" lends him some validity as a gamer/one of the guys as well as allow him to throw more spin out there. Sadly, even though the FoH forums do have some very cynical about spin, intelligent, and unforgiving gamers, there will always be a portion that will still believe any of the bullshit he spews. He can always find some poor soul there that will be sympathetic as opposed to his own game forums.

No problem.. I do understand your point though on press releases.. I would say most compaines would go about things the way one would normally think they should (release it, dont leak it, dont talk about it, etc).. SOE however has shown time and agin they do their own plays from thier own playbook, and when you compare their book to the rest of the corporate world, its the difference between Alice in Wonderland and War and Peace.
