They just raised their fees to 10% so damn greedy.

Anways I had to close down my store so I started looking for anything better and I found www.ebid.net

Anyone know anything about it??

If it is good I want to use it since they have free listings

If its 10 percent of each sale...thats rediculous, 1 thats greedy and 2...how big are they going to be now? making 10 percent of everything. It might not be....but think about if it is....

Yes that is ridiculous. They already own Paypal after buying Paypal out a couple of years ago. With Paypal, which is by far the most popular way to collect money from someone who wins your auction, the seller pays about 5% or 6% or something that is taken automatically anytime someone sends you money. Ebay owns Paypal. So now they have also increased a sale cost to 10% eh? PLUS the listing fees which are very costly sometimes too. So now it is conceivable that if you list something on eBay for $50, sell it for $50 with Buy It Now for example, then the person pays you via Paypal... you might make only about $35 or so, after Ebay charges you it's listing fees, the 10% of the total closing price, and the Paypal seller fees.

That is totally ridiculous. As if eBay doesn't already make enough money as it is. Now they will make even more upteen millions of dollars per week. They have a very small overhead because they dont pay for shipping, for insurance, for anything really except their website and for a few customer service reps and junk. No stocking or storage fees. Not a ton of employees to pay. They bascally let the buyers and sellers handle every transaction themselves and have just a small % of the overall transactions taken care of by a few customer service ppl.

Make a few more billion per year eBay. You greedy f'n bastards.

Yeah I got an email from e-bay about this too. It's pretty lame, if something is working good, don't change it. Like the internet for example :)

    zaxtor99, very nice post
