Hello.

Would you recommend this game to someone who uses text chat only?

Are there major portions of the game that are inaccessable to someone who uses text chat only?

    STOP POSTING THIS IN EVERY GAME FORUM!!!!!!!!  THE ONLY TIME VOICE CHAT IS REQUIRED IS IN CERTAIN GUILDS, NO GAME IS IT MANDATORY, SO STOP F***ING ASKING!

    Do you work for Teamspeak, and are paid by them to derail threads that ask the questions about inclusiveness?

    I mean, what is the harm in asking questions from the people who know?  I don't want to get into a game and then after I pay the sub and box, I find out nobody will group with me without the voice apps.

    I agree, it's a legit question. A game like City of Heroes uses voice a lot and it can be disappointing to those who don't. That is to my experience anyway.

    Now I can't really answer your question since I haven't played UO in 8 or 9 years but there was no global chat or private messaging in game. We used an external chat like ICQ to talk to each other, so nowadays I wouldn't be surprised if voice is the popular alternative. I could be wrong so better wait until someone who really knows can answer.

    Your question is fine, the fact that you asked in over 6 different forums is spam.  What game have you played that gave you the idea that voice chat is so important.  As I said before only certain guilds in certain games require you to have it.

    Most major PvP guilds will ask that you be in there Vent or Teamspeak but wont require you talk so I would say your fine

    Playing UO for a few years now and most don't use teamspeak ingame.
    It is useful if you want to be with the top dogs in PvP as it helps to communicate quickly, but nothing a good team cannot do without teamspeak.

    Couldn't you have just put one post asking people to suggest games that aren't VoIP intensive, desperate to drive up your post count that badly?

    I have never used team speak and never will. Every mmorpg can be played without team speak. And to me it is a whole lot more fun tbh, as I absolutely cannot stand what peeps are saying in it. It ruins the whole atmosphere for me personally.
