i play gws on my desktop so i hve no problem w/ it but my friend and i hve laptops that our school made us buy._. Thats the only comp he has and he wants to play GW but when i played it on my laptop (same specs and such) it crashes after a a few min. Could any one tell me the problem cause i checked the specs and most of them check out and r fine. Here is the link to the specs for the laptop any help would be greatly appreciated http://reviews.cnet.com/Dell_Latitude_D510_Notebook_Computer_for_Business/4507-3121_7-31355783.html?tag=sub     (our comps hve actually 70gb instead of the 40 it says)

thx again

Have you tried lowering the graphics?

this may or may not have anything to do with it as the variables are huge, my wife was playing on a radeon 9700 pro with the same drivers as my sons system that has the radeon 9800 pro and the wifes was crashing all the time, my mate aslo had the 9700 pro and also was having the same problems and this only started once they released factions, as far as I am aware the only dell Laptop with the 9700 pro was the first Dell XPS laptop, which was a bit of a donkey anyways.

I read about some of the smaller 128Mb graphics cards having problems too, but as I say this only started happening when Factions started.

But my daugher plays on my wifes Dell Precsion which had the Nvidia Geoforce go card and that chugs along but has no problems, anyway if your systems drivers are upto date and it has been checked for viruses/trojans and is free its the most probably the graphics card

guild wars crashing could have to do with ur internet connection/graphics and a whole lot of other things..

try and uninstall and re install the game at times that fixes many issues :)

If you're playing in Full Screen...try switching to Windowed mode.

I know with my graphics card (even with the latest drivers) it would crash repeatedly, but once I switched it to windowed mode it's never crashed again. Tried switching back to FS the other day...crash city again. Give it a go...it might help.
