Battlefield 2 Online play

Hey guys, just bought myself a zboard with a GWF keyset and as I was looking through the other keysets I noticed battlefield 2. I have played battlefield: modern combat for xbox360 and I really liked it, so I checked ebgames.com and of course they sell the battlefield 2 pc game and it features online play. I'm not experienced with online FPS games AT ALL so this is going to sound extremely noobish of me, but I was wondering if there is monthly fee for battlefield 2 online play or if it is f2p? I'm just considering getting the game and keyset to play in my spare time because like many others I do enjoy a good FPS but I'm only 16 and I don't have a credit card.

I know it's not an rpg but hey, this is the off topic section!

    Unless it has MMO tact to it no FPS that I know of has any sort of monthly fees associated with it, because servers are mainly run by the players... Of course its always nice to drop a few bucks into your favorite server's paypal account, because servers aren't free, and someone has to pay for it
