I will admit it right here and now. I am such a freaking fanboi for Stargate (Movie/SG1/Atl).

Being it's the 10th season for SG1 and the show is still fun and exciting to watch, I can't help but proclaim myself a fanboi. There is absolutely no other television show or movie that I've seen that keeps me going like Stargate. Honestly!

I was a huge fan of Star Wars. I mean huge. Hell, I swore I'd never pay to play a game -- until SWG was announced. I followed that game for far too long because the name and somewhat what was in it. In the end, it became less fun than <fill in the blank for something you hate doing that's subjective and debatable but you feel confident you hate doing it> to me so I had to quit. Having actually enjoyed the concept of playing a MMO, I decided to try other MMO's and have enjoyed them since.

Before this forum was created I caught wind of a Stargate MMO and I'll admit, I have serious reservations about the success of the product because while the shows explore great worlds and interesting people, it's really because of the characters that the show works. When Ben and Claudia joined Stargate, which my wife now refers to as Fargate.. or is it Starscape.. anyway, the group synergy (for lack of a better word) seemed, off. They didn't seem to fit as well as the original (core) SG1 crew that we grew to really enjoy over the years. In my opinion, they've resolved these issues because they're actually entertaining again. Which leads me to my conclusion on that matter. If you lose the flavor the actors bring to the show, it's just another sci-fi show and could get old quick.

Let me reiterate, I really enjoy watching SG1 and Atlantis and occasionally get out my Stargate movie DVD for som old school viewing. I'm a fanboi.

I'll try Stargate Worlds in hopes that it will bring something special and fun to the table. As important as characters are to the show, characters in the game will be equally as important. I also feel that breaking from the traditional MMO model would be wise as going out and grinding kills has never been part of what makes Stargate fun to watch.

I would beg the developers to not just look at what makes MMO's successful, but also why some fail.

Best of luck to SGW developers in delivering.
