I'm the kinda guy who likes to do a little bit of everything, not being restrained to one role. I'm more partial to melee than I am to casting, and I hate ranged combat. Pets are fun times, though. I was thinking Ritualist/??? myself, but I haven't played Guild Wars since a few months after release and I'm just going by hearsay. So what's good?

Beyond that, it all comes down to taste.
I've seen effective A/W's, N/W's, R/W's, and once saw a good E/W. Me/W works, but is kinda limited to Illusionary Weaponry. Rt/W could work, there's a good amount of stuff that can help. Mo/W's tend to be 55ers, so be careful with that combo. Or, just go W/- and take whatever secondary floats your boat at the time.

The Rt is a good support class. SO if you want easy groups, Do Rt/Mo, And you can be a group healer if you put all points into Restoration, Communing (For Recuperation), and Healing Prayers. You can just as good as a monk.
Although if you become a Rt/Mo, You cant melee worth a shit

My recommendation...Ranger/Warrior...fits all your prereqs...and Rangers melee really well with a shield!!
