And that's because the game design appears firmly rooted in high fantasy elements, no not the jokester PvsP type fantasy elements of other popular games, but the kind that reminds one of that first Dungeons and Dragons game session.
This could turn out to be a good game.

Yeah, if only the debate were more lively here. It seems to have died down recently... I'd use the Simutronics forums, but, well, my brain isn't powerful enough to bend time and space in the fashion that would be required to actually navigate them...
Another two weeks before more info comes out... If only I lived next door to a cousin of mine that was a GM. But for that I'd need some better cousins. Or, well, at least some more computer literate ones... 'Course, I know them sharing the info would go against the NDA, or whatever, but... I could probably at least get the odd peek...
That said, the discussions have died down at bit, but I think thats because everyone is slack jawed with anticipation!
The Article they just posted about the Wyr is awesome. But I want to play with the generator, damn it!!!
Once they start releasing more official news and start backing down off of the NDA (end of the year, maybe?) then we should start to see more and more info coming out about it. Right now they're being careful, because the game is still a ways off, and they don't want any of their big idea to be stolen.

There has been talk at the office that a new web forum / bulletin board system is on the way. Unfortunately, i havent heard when the big swap is going to take place.

And I'm a very slow player, I like to take my time and enjoy the journey, so people that like to rush to the end are sorta contradictary to my style
Really though, they're not that hard if you take a minute or two to understand them.

No, I’ve been browsing and posting on them for upwards of 10 years. They thoroughly, completely, and absolutely are the most gratuitously bass-ackwards forum layout known to mankind. They should have changed to the industry standard years ago, but didn’t because people that play their games typically pride themselves on being unique. They like that their retarded format of forum posting is unreasonably illogical. It’s just what they are.

I especially like when he told me that no other system could handle the load the Simu servers can. Allakhazam has 7 games they provide for. For FFXI they have Server Forums, Job Forums, Race Forums... The Server forums themselves in three years of posts have 1,995,732 posts. The Whole Alla site has 9,010,086 posts. The whole Simu site has 1,753,720 posts, and it takes a good 15-30 seconds for it to populate 100 posts (Compared to 5-10 max on alla) and 1/2 the time the posts just don't appear on simu's site. You have to refresh to get them.
I've posted many a-post on how they're retarded, and just get shot down each time. If you want a good time, its post #575 in Sumutronics > Forums Discussions > Comments & Suggestions. See how much BS I have to go through to defend my point and how unwilling they are to change.
Oh and my last post was on 5/1 ish, because that’s when I canceled my account for the 5th time. I keep coming back because I like the game, I keep leaving because of Simutronics attitude toward its players. They give unrealistic timetables (HJ was supposed to come out when? – Monks? Savants? Daemon Summoning?). And they just have the wrong attitude toward suggestions – They poll their current playerbase, the ones that HAVENT left because of their differences with Simu and keep them. Don't get me wrong, I WILL be playing Hero's Journey, but if I leave it won't be for the gameplay or content. It will be for those two attitudes that Simu has taken time and time again.
I was being somewhat sarcastic about the HJ forums being a strategy to keep people with low attention spans out of the game
I've noticed that I'm rapidly becoming one of those people anyways. I'm just to tired to put alot of effort into my hobbies these days. I can't remember the last time I sat down to read a good book on my own

lol, I have to agree the official forums...well, yeah...
But, aside from that, I have to say HJ has got my interest piqued. And this coming from someone who was completley jaded on MMO's after the brain-eating, soul-killing fest that is WoW.
One thing I'm curious about, and I'm sure there's an answer somewhere, but my enfeebled mind can't seem to navigate the official forums well enough, is this:
How much of a role is the actual story going to play in the game?
Is it going to be a dismal attempt at adding "color" to the world like Warcraft? Wher eyou have a solid, well written history and then never bother to even use it, or worse case, slip your own canon the finger whenever you want to introduce something new?
Or is it going to be like a FFXI, where there is a story that drives you through the game. Not like, leading you by the nose driving, but something that gives you a sense of purpose for being there and playing?
As far as dates go, that's one area that Blizzard does seem tob e honest about: "It's done when it's done." Probably a bit more crass than msot would like, but it is at least honest. Release dates are always tenative at best anyways.
