The AoC developer was very unprofessional to have done that,and his admission of guilt only proves it more. If anything,that alone has put me off watching AoC. Good job Funcom,you look real good now. If they don't like Darkfall,they keep it to themselves. You don't hear Blizzard going on the WAR website and going 'HA HA beat 7 million you Mythic/EA pansies!',do you? Or any other examples you care to think of.
The screenshots have impressed people time and time again,if not get them talking about them afterwards. Granted,people do request short video segments like the 'orc pig mount' more often,but all in time. A lot of the updates currently revolve around snaring new players,in my opinion,or at least confirming what is in. Even these satisify some of the old watchers though.
The 'alpha video',by which I assume you refer to the official gameplay trailer,shows a hell of a lot to people. Mounted combat. Aimed spells/arrows. Aimed melee combat and how it should look. It didn't show everything (naval combat,seige combat,etc) but it showed enough to please many people.
I'm afraid Darkfall will end up like so many MMOs: A lot of great ideas that will go absolutely nowhere because the company behind the game lacks the funding and technical expertise to actually pull any of it off.
If I'm wrong, then I'm wrong, and I'll try the game, but I'm certainly not going to get excited by a game that is already 3 years behind schedule being made my people with no track record.
