Sketchy reports have been coming in the last two days about the future of SWG.

Word has it that LA will be pulling the liceanse for SW from SOE. LA is not happy with the state of the game even though SOE keeps spinning that they are. LA has seen the public outcry from the NGE and has been monitoring this situation over the last 6 to 7 months very closely.

Add to that, LA is also unpleased with the drop of subs that they contribute to SOEs bad management of SWG. Dropping sub rates is not good overall for the SW franchise. There also seems to be issues with the station pass. LA feels that a SW brand name as this should stand exclusive.

LA has been also monitoring the DUCK projects and are impressed with the love that many people hold for the classic SWG. They are just a little shocked as a matter of fact. They do realize that the DUCKers are going to provide a sevice to SW fans that SOE can not. They realize its not for money but for the LOVE of the game.

Word has it that LA has gotten in touch with SEVERAL duck developers. Not just a few here and there but a collective majority of Duckers.

Apparently LA wants to work with some of these talented coders to reproduce a version of SWG pre nge and run it themselves.

They love the PR related to this topic and feel that it would clean up thier names of ALL the bad press that SOE has earned for SWG in the last sevral years.

This is just info that has been circulating behind closed doors. Take it as you will.

    Well, let's just look at it this way.

    The ONLY way to turn into the skid and look like saviors here is if they did this. Let's say they aren't waiting for the EMU team to finish the code.. but imagine what the team could do to the ACTUAL CODE.

    So LA spins this "labor of love" thing.. hires the EMU team as their dev team... brings back the "game we love".

    Sure, it is all best-case speculation. Sure it is what they SHOULD do. But often what makes sense, and what is done never coencide.

    Now I have never been one that is big on the "rumour mill" and always have a just sit back and wait policy.

    I have been sitting and waiting for quite awhile now.  While I wish this to be true, I also want (if it's true) it to be done correctly.

    I just remember that if something sounds to good to be true, it usually is....

    Still crossing fingers though..  lol

    LA doesn't care squat about you or the customer. Here's a hint. No corporation cares about the customer.

    If LA cared about the fans, why did they make Solo shoot first or add JarJar?

    They do care about your money $$. If the justification to do this will yield a profit then you bet SWG pre-CU will be back in some flavor or another.

    But if it's cheaper to milk it until it dies it will.

    The only saving grace is that apparently LA primary IP is Starwars. (They ditched most of their spinoffs years ago) but it will come down to $$ and if such an act is worth it.

    I bet anyone in this community $1,000,000 that LA will never publish assist or otherwise get involved with SWG emu ever... anyone care to take the bet? Put your money where your worthless rumors are!
