Eve Online 0.0 Experiment

0.0 in EVE is essentially No Man's Land, there are no rules in 0.0. Life is the roughest here, stations are few and far between, and the cost of things that can only be obtained in empire are pretty high.

Anyhow there is a thread on the forums of a guy that took his new character all the way into 0.0 and how he is surviving down there.

Personally I find this quite interesting, I have mostly stayed in the "safe zones" and been a general carebear.

Eve-Online does have their own forum here.

    In War - Victory.
    In Peace - Vigilance.
    In Death - Sacrifice.

Big whoop, the guy makes an alt and funds it with his main and sets out into dangeous space. The only thing intresting about the whole thing is the guy's writing skills and the fact that he makes it sound exciting.

I agree. This is something that would only interest EvE fans and should be posted on the EvE boards.

I read it and have to admit it was really good. Though it does demonstrate exactly the problem with Eve. Here this guy is exploring places he has never been. Traveling through 100's of systems which would be 100's upon thousands of light years from his starting point, yet not once does he talk about any geographic features. Not one mention of the beautiful nebulas, not one metion of the types of planets or stars, not on mention of any moons, comets, odd space occurances.

Think of all the explorers on earth in history, think of Star Trek. How many times do they go a new place not describe anything they have seen?

Yes that's what Eve needs. Wouldn't it be fun if you were suddenly held by an alien tractor beam and had to solve a puzzle to get lose from it (ala Star Trek). Get random SOS transmissions from someone needing rescued, discover new planets and lifeforms. Now that would make a great game.
