So where are they?
I read some, it looks like the ships are the focus point. That works for me.
Trade?
Ocean Boundaries?
Exploration?
All war?
Ship skill groups?
Navigation and combat skills?

Even with NDA's, if a game is horrible then some people will be willing to break them and spill some details. Since there haven't been many red flags since beta, my guess is that the game experience is close to what was promised.
-- I need a nerf --
don't ask people to break the NDA
I am not in the beta, but I can tell you that as far as Trade goes, the game will feature a real, player driven economy at release, goods will be craftable by players, who will each have 10 "lots"(ala swg) to place factories etc on. The Ocean Boundaries are what you would expect from what you picture as "the carribean" think a world as big as Sid Meier's Pirates, but scaled more realistically.
There is never "all war" Wars are started at ports by players who complete a string of missions to put the port into contention and open up a pvp zone, this pvp zone will remain open for three days and at the end, there will be a massive fleet battle to decide who controls the port until the next time it is available for taking.
I can't comment on the combat and navigation skills, simply because I do not know them Hopefully we can get a list or at least a general idea of them from a dev sometime soon
Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.
TY
Wasn't looking for NDA breaking hints. Just a realm of onfo that would indicate some sort of release date.
My idea of ideal PotBS is a global play zone but if they plan island to island detail then that might be extreme, at first for sure.
Sorry if I seem a bit pushy, I just nuked my MMO toons again so I am MMOless and sort of having that no wind in the sails feeling

I'm just getting addicted to AOL now, i've been hounding the e-mail stuff for MONTHS NOW!

Or maybe its a bit early still, they said they where going to announce a release date at PAX (aug 25-27 2006). If the testers are relatively satisfied with progress then perhaps we will have a longer wait till they spill the beans. As the release date gets closer im confident restraint will slip for one reason or another, its only a matter of time.......
People are satisfied with what they saw, that's one.
Developers are extremly friendly and active in community and that's a second - you don't want to dissapoint community loving guy like isildur, who make more forum post monthly than entire EVE team have made in last two years.
Good to see some Pirate representation on these forums, Isildur
BTW, can you give us on ETA on the beta finish?

So please hurry up..
I will set sail and come back when the game is done. :P
So far I am going on screen shots and the land side looks fort style with all appropriate shops intact. The water and ships look great. I have yet to see anything that indicates storms or weather but I assume there will be such variables.
I don't mind waiting. I don't want to but it's got to be done. It is looking fun though.

Pirates of the Burning Sea will be the cure to my cancer.
Ok without asking anyone to break the frikkin NDA...
