Two Questions for You...

In your opinion, what percentage of players interested in a DUCK regularly visit the DUCK site?

The polls they are running have about 600 responders.  Truly.  Pitiful.  Response.

So, do the math, and determine if you think that is a population worthy of even loggin into a DUCK server.

I personally think 90% of players who are actually interested in a DUCK do indeed check that site at least once a week, and I am sorry but, say, 1000 players spread out over many, many individual servers???  It would be like logging in to a Battlefront II 32 player server.  Worse than NGE populations!!!

Second question:  How many players on a server makes it worthwhile to you?

Low - while many just stealth troll, many others rely on mmorpg.com for most/all their info.

Never knew enough about pre-Server Pop nerf to answer this questions in an informed manner.  I can say I was happy with pre-NGE population of Intrepid, however.

So, I gotta ask - is rkabyrne your alt account?

Using the SOE method, there must be at least 6000 people interested then.  Remember, forum users are the VOCAL MINORITY.

I check their forums regularly, but have not registered because I think their developers are jerks and won't bother to join and inflate their egos further.  Therefore I did not vote.  I am sure there are others like me.

Question 2:  I think a server with 250 devoted players would be enough to have some fun.  You might have to resort to scheduled base raids and such to ensure some PvP fun, but I think 250 with a decent cross section of crafters (which I think there will be enough of since they were the ones who left SOE most) can make a working economy.  Will there be enough competition for the crafters to enjoy?  I don't know.

Personally, I'd like to see 500 or more.  But I could play if I were the only one on a server.  It would then be a MSORPG (Massive SinglePlayer ORPG).

I realize I said I quit. I never said it was forever :)

I was actually noticing the numbers on the polls myself and thought the same thing. For all the supposed thousands of folks who cry roll back or for the *** there sure weren't alot of responses to the poll (just looked again and its at at around 636 total votes per poll). Not alot of responses from the "quiet majority".

As far as the servers though I think most folks are going to be severely disappointed. If you think SOE servers are barren wait till they get in the ***'s servers.

In answer to you second question I can't really say for sure since SOE never realeases numbers. The cities were definitely bustlingmore in pre-cu than the NGE and I would like to see those kind of numbers back in, but with that you have to make a reason to be in those cities.

Not everyone checks the forums everyday.

Not everyone is aware of the EMU site.

Alot of people that would like a Classic server do not believe a EMU will work.

The poll was up for approx 4 hrs.

    What do you want?

If you gave more time and puplicity towards the poll it would of been a exponential turnout.

I posted on the SWG site and it was immediately removed along with a personal message from Garva stating one more post linking to the site and I would be banned.

Thye actually locked the pools afeter a little while...   No one is saying that the EMU servers will have lots and lots per server,  Sure it will be smaller, But more fun then the NGE anyways.

SWG has 362, 297 total registered users.

EMU site has 5499 total registered users.

    Relax, realx

He asked a questions and I gave him my opinion, nothing more, nothing less.

Garva threatened a ban huh? How many times do they have to tell folks not to post links to thast site.

Guess you weren't showing the proper respect.

You arent going to find worthwhile populations on those servers. If they were SoE servers then you would. Id rather give Sony $15 a month to play pre-cu with a resonable amount of people, then play it for free on a server that has about 40 people on at prime hours.

I'd say relativitly few of the players that might play or be drawn in by friends to play check the site regularly, and of them even less bother to register or vote on polls.

To make a server worthwhile to me ..... well if it was being run by someone I trusted and liked it would only really take my old guild. I don't care for PvPer so I don't need other players for that and hoestly there were some very disturbing and nasty people lurking around the SoE server I played on so I wasn't that involved with the general community because of them and my guild having been a crafting guild we'd have all the needed crafters represented and I was never a fan of the big teams prefering to go off by myself or with small groups of friends. I'd say I'm well in the minority on this though.

Funny how that works, I wouldn't play on a SoE provided server if it was free let alone pay them for it

I've never been there. I found a game I enjoy and I'm not going to bother with following anything too much until it's out anymore (thanks DnL). *shrug*

Listen I can tell you this, if they get a proven server up and it works... word of mouth will crash that thing with population of testing the waters alone.

In fact, what you see right now is nothing.... I hate saying this but I will:

Call me when they get a server up and running with some good results... then I will be there.  I will NOT GET MY HOPES up anymore with anything made by or (semi-coded) with SOE.
