I want a game that that allows total freedom to explore worlds. build cities with friends, expand out into space, build colonies and fight against other groups of people.
Must have a good ground game and space sim.
Any games like this already?

ahh... no... it was not a joke and I was not thinking of that game... although that was my favorite game till they destroyed it

I guess they dont have such a game yet. EVE online would be neat if you could land on a planet, get out, and go to a city and to your house... and do alot of stuff that SWG used to have. Then go explore, do a quest or somthing. There should be a nice mix of quests to build skills and get items and exploration and colony building... and also rivarly between other groups of people who maybe have an alliance with a different government.
I guess I should just build my own game.

Every time a new space mmo comes out, it seems that everyone want to have 100% freedom as in building cities, stations, owning a large fleet of npcs and whatever. I'm surprised so far where I have looked around at, almost nobody was asking for building cities and npc fleet in a mideval fantasy type game.

I think Mankind may have exactly what you want(planets, building cities) but it's an mmorts if you can handle that.

you won't get it in wow/eq games.  the games that have it, well their players already love the game, so no point in them asking for more.   i'm thinking you have the mongrel hordes flocking to the clones and the original and then the empire builders who have already found the games in which they CAN build fantasy empires.

could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please?

if you cannot find the game with these things you have pointed out, then you need to make that game.

Closest thing you will get to that is Star Wars Galaxies. You can build cities with friends, explore worlds, and fight against other groups of people. You cannot, build colonies in space. You can however, fight in space, mine and run around up there. It's a good space simulation also.

Other than SWG, there isn't any others.

Edit: I just read the rest of the replies. Contrary to popular belief, you can still do everything you asked for in your post. It's just a level based game with pseudo FPS/turnbased combat.

well you could wait two years then play infinity

Not exactly sure whay infinity will have.

From what I read, it will be more of a space exploration game then it is building and managing colonies.

Gamers especially sci-fi gamers must learn not to be too spoiled on what type of gameplay that happens to come out of it.
