My favorite character is the ranger. I don't use any of my secondary profession skills because I want to focus on my ranger primary. My tool bar is mostly all ranger skills. But, recently, i've begun using my Ritualist secondary prof on my ranger. The only skill I really use is Brutal Weapon. Kindle arrow stacks with brutal weapon which adds damage, and, if I wanted to I would use Favorable winds on top of that which will add +6 to the damage. It all adds up quickly. So, as of now, my favorite build is the Ranger/Ritualist build. my tool bar has the following skills
Not a real decent build, but it focus's on damage. My bow is a homemade dragos (identical stats & flat bow)
anyway, that is my favorite build at the moment. I just made a warrior not too long ago. I still need good weapon and shield for my warrior. other than that, I have a blood/curses necro that i use as well.
W/Mo by far, with the big attacks, then when im low on health i heal myself, its a really good combo
Another fav is R/Me good agaisnt meele u use congur phantom on a monster then make it slow down 50% (forgot the spell name) then u use some poison or ignite arrow
Whenever i step outside, somebody claims to see the light It seems to me that all of us have lost our patience. 'cause everyone thinks they're right, And nobody thinks that there just might Be more than one road to our final destination--
This class combo, when done correctly, is amazingly fun to play as and can still take a good beating. The closeness of death will always keep you on your toes, and the constant skill spam will keep you moving constantly. Plus, you get some added benefits that a Warrior woulnd't get, like traps that actually mean something and the option to switch to a bow for damage.
The downside of the build is that your damage with a melee weapon is stunted (when compared to a warrior primary). But, you can make up for that with both skill spam and condition spam. In fact, I recommend not really going for out and out damage, but survivability and annoyance factor. Especially in PvP, where I'd drop all of the attack skills off of that bar in favor of interrupts and snares. Which are mostly useless in PvE.
But, still, it's the most fun class I've played as so far. I'd recommend trying it regardless, because if you don't like it, you can always swap over to straight Ranger and be just fine and dandy. (Frenzy Barrage and ViM Trapping are both very good as well)

Heh...Add Poison Arrow (elite) to that mix and you'll add a stacking degen attack to it.
I'm looking into creating a new character and need ideas.
Ranger is my fav as well. Excellent damage and good defensive skills and the best self-healing skill in the game (when you have a lot of aps on wilderness survival). My rangers - with 14 aps on WS - get +10 health regen for 10 seconds using Troll Unguent. And it recharges in 10 seconds. The only monk spell I carry is rebirth.
IMHO, the most versatile, complete profession the game offers. And that's saying a lot.

Assassin/Dervish was a lot of fun and quite unique while it lasted.
Poison Delivery Boy is one of my favorite builds and has been for most of my Assassin's Career.

there's another one called "Yansassin" I reccomend checking it out, very fun for pvp or 1v1.
Ranger/Warrior. Speciffically, a Sword Ranger (as seen here).

Ranger, Necro, Mesmer, Elementalist, Ritualist, Monk, Warrior, Assassin.
I'll be purchasing Nightfall when it comes out. Here's hoping the devs add another character slot or two. I'd like to play a Paragon and a Dervish.
