A guild before release?

CheesecakeCheesecake Member Posts: 28

I am very interested in trying out Vangaurd, and even interested in being in a guild early on.

I know the advantages of getting to know people for a guild before release, but I'd like to know other's opinions on this matter. Do you think it's a great idea? An O.K. idea? Any reasons why this might not be the best way to start a guild? I am just curious if I should start looking for that perfect guild!

Thanks much~! :D

I agree that it would be advantageous to you if you want to level quickly and see all there is to see as soon as possible.  However, keep in mind that many guilds fall shortly after release because of unforseen complications that the game presents with their system that they have in place to run a guild.

Personally, I like to experience the game first alone and then after the first guild break ups happen allow for the chaos to settle and choose a guild based on maturity and organization.

Whatever works for you go with!

It's great if you get a guild at release so you got some people to group with and ask questions. :) Usually though, imo.. guilds that haven't been established in other games or aren't searching for the powergaming crowd don't do to well starting pre-release.

There are a lot of pre-release guilds starting up right now, not only does it help work things out before the game, it sets a place to help eachother gather information.

I started a guild pre-release, mainly so I can start early on setting it all up, direction I want it to go. Start the guild rules, guild basics, etc... before the game so I can spend my time in the game when it is out.

I decided to advertise my guild on a couple of sites and actually got a couple members out of it already. Together we are figuring out what we want, and where we are headed, it is working rather well.

You can take a look at http:twistedknights.guildportals.com

the guild is in no way set in it's ways, or direction at this point, as we gather more info on the game we figure more out towards are future goal.

    Not so nice guy!

Pre-forming a guild might be a good way to get to know others. However, unless you have previously played with the people who you are starting this guild with, you will more then likely run into many complications with the way your guild is being run. On the other side of the coin however you are able to weed out many of the people who will cause problems in the early stages of a guild before the guild is even created. I personally think I will start a guild with RL friends and current friends I have come across in SWG, Guild Wars, CoH, and WoW.
