I am a MMORPG aholic and I wanted to see something. I need both Pro's and Con's of the game.
I played this game originally when it first came out and it was fun for about a month before you realized it sucks a ton of time and its very party based. A long time ago Jap's (not trying to be raciest) did not want to party with American's so it made partying very hard. Has the game changed? I also hear about problems with gil and such being traded for high prices?
I really liked the game play I just hated waiting for groups. I'd like to hear the good and a bad. Should I come back? Also what is the best server to play on for parties and American groups?
Thanks in advance.

I am guessing just judging from the amount of replies I have gotten on here its explains that FFXI still sucks ass the community is pretty horrid. Plus I've been reading the forums?
PFT 3k worth of people on ONE server and that's it? Hahha Eve holds more like 19-25k at all times normally...

Don't play the game if you don't have patience.
Do some reasearch please, EVE has 1 server with that many on. FFXI has 32 servers with anything from 3k-8k on, most times of the day they have 3k+ on, the more popular servers get upto near 8k so iv read.
Either way, you wont last in FFXI or EVE because you have already shown you are a moron and both of those games are for people who actually have patience and brains. Maybe Toontown Online is more up your street.

Couldn't have said it better.
EvE has allot of good ideas, allot of good concepts but there is one major problem with EvE Online...

hmmm, well eldar, with your intelligence level, I'd say Pacman (although that may be pushing your comprehension) would fit you.
Lud,
Thanks for the first honest reply instead of everyone flaming me and then I get rep'ed for all these people who are being smart asses. All I asked was if the game was worth it and only one fing person could reply. Wow. He's right if this is the community is not worth coming back!
Thanks for the help!

Eldar, youre coming back depends on your reasons for leaving really...
I gather a) you didnt like the Japanese vs American thing. I think that varied on w/e server you happened to be on at the time. My server had little of it but a few knuckleheads (NA- North American ones) normally made it seem bigger than it was. I actually preferred Japanese parties. Why? They never wanted to chat; they just wanted to go and exp right away and stay for hours and hours. I found them to be wholly more courteous than NA players for the most part, just quietly confident. They would wait for you when you went afk if you had to bio break (drop a log) or something, NA parties would be looking for your replacement to drop you after 5 mins. Japanese parties were way quicker, sometimes too fast in how they pulled mobs.. (see: reckless)but you were guaranteed a lot of exp, with little downtime. So, the climate is better than it was when you left. Right now, its all about the gilsellers, which WERENT the Japanese, but were the Chinese. Chinese gilfarmers have kind of taken over FFXI due to SE administration's inaction for so long. They purged a few sellers recently, but there are still known farmers on every server. I dunno the criteria SE uses to boot em; but when you see a group of ppl with the names Honeybear, Honeycub, Honeyclip, Honeybunny and Honeydue and Honeymoney that sit in the same Ifrit's Cauldron spot on a NM bomb that drops a 1 million gil belt everyday, day in day out.. well, the GMs must be dumber than ppl think.
b) You didnt like waiting for groups. Well, good/bad news. Im assuming you left long before you got a 75 character. (not meaning to offend) But if thats the case, you are really in luck. Right now, there are so many ppl exping subjobs to 37 and mains higher as 2nd and 3rd 75 jobs (so they can get into the bigger HNMLS) that you can have no prob getting parties now up to 70ish. Plus they made two new jobs.. Bluemage and Corsair that everyone is doing from 1-75. Those two jobs need tanks, healers etc. So, good time to level up. From 70-75 it gets tougher, due to everything now on merit based action. That put ppl lev75 back into the exp scene, where we used to concentrate more on quests/missions etc. So even if you get a party as a 75 DRG, youre gonna have to fight for a exp camp. The exp grind does not ever end in FFXI, the developers did not mean for it to. They like the system and the majority of players on FFXI like it as well, or just feel its necessary so its not a real concern.
