Hopefully they took lots of lessons learned from L2 and took out many of the bad elements. Let's just hope they can keep hold the RMT and farmers.

Amen to that.  Controlling the bots and farmers and whatnot is what will help make or break it, imho anyhow.

Don't most Korean games look pretty similar?  It's a pretty far stretch then to say that Archlord and others are just clones of L2.

I think that this is the truth of it in so far as Archlord will appeal to the same audience as L2 gamers.

Whether or not it is an L2 killer remains to be seen but I already have seen evidence that L2 clans are signed up to try this out.

I wouldn't say that Archlord is a clone so much as that it resides in the same family.

In a way, yes. it has the same clan politics and controls as Lineage 2, but the rest of the game is very diffrent and is much more of a western game. the game's 2500+ quest actually have pretty intresting stories in them, and they take you all over the (quite big) world.

Actually most Korean MMOS really suck. They may have some good eye candy, but the navigation, quests and overal game play is really bad. L2 was the best I've playes and I really wanded to like it, but it just wasn't very much fun and navigation was just plain horible. It was still better than EVE.

I suppose this is your opinion and that's how you feel. But I feel thar Korean MMOS are the best in every way. Better quests, pvp, graphics, and yes, navigation too. I haven't played any other game that matches up to these. Not even WoW ( And I've played quite a few too )

And EvE just sucks in general.

what do you expect from these prepubescent anime fanboys? if it looks like anime they flock to it and call it great, no matter how good it is.

everyone is a fan boy inside (some are fanboys of their mom, or their car, their favorite sport team, their favorite game and so on). so i do't quite understand why everybody uses that word as an offense when it's not.

PS: i should update my sig and put Archlord Fanboy #3 (behind gameloading and lilith)

Whoa wait wait. So you have to like anime to like AL? That's bullshit. And it doesn't even look anything close to anime. Get your facts straight!

I don't want to break the NDA so all I am going to say is that it IS a L2 clone, if you don't think so, just try playjng in the beta when you get in.

Please dont put down RF online...

    This game is not polished....

Even if they had everything working that they plan 100% tomorrow.... it still wouldnt be as worth playing as L2 and L2 is not worth playing....

Im in the beta...and I don't think it's an l2 clone at all. More like a micture between l2, wow and diablo.

    Heh.

I can't stand WoW, but to even try to compare this game to that one...your only kidding yourself. WoW has way more content. They did one thing right, and that was masking the grind by giving you massive amounts of quests to keep you busy through the levels. Archlord gives like 2-3 per level tops, and for the most part, you grind just like in any other korean mmo. Unfortunately, the standards have been raised, and the majority of the western audience will not stick with a game that is as tedious as korean games tend to be. Codemasters strikes out twice now for publishing korean MMOs to the western audience, if you don't think so, enjoy an empty game upon release.
