Best name for an MMO?

OK, post your favourite name for an MMO, it can be one that's already been released, or one you've made up. But you have to specify why you like it so much. So for me it has to be:

Nexus: The Kingdom of Winds.

Because the game, in my opinion captures the essence of the title very well. I also love the word 'Nexus' and whilst something like'The Kingdom of Winds' seems like a pretty ordinary, boring title I think it works really well with Nexus to create a really mystical sounding title.

Now your turn :P

Me being lazy and just looking down the side column here, I'd have to go with Pirates of the Burning Sea.

    1. It has pirates.
    2. It has burning.
    3. It doesn't have "online" in the name.

    Now with 57.3% more flames!

I thought SUN was a great name for a game, until i read that it stood for
"Soul of the Ultimate Nation", and that instantly made it my pick for most ridiculous name.

    Favorite mmorpg names:

Tabula Rasa (which apprarently means blank slate)

Huxley  (a reference to the writer of "A brave new World")

I like the name EvE for its simplicity (and is why I THOUGHT i would like the name SUN).

    The best would probaly be:
Land of fireballs, warriors, priests and stuff - With TOTAL ANARCHY! LoFWPaSWTA for short.

    Lmao.

Then that would probably shorten to LoFPaSTA. Which is Great...

    "Lofpasta"

    Darkfall.

    S.T.F.U Online. (Serene.Technological.Fiery.Universes)

The Grudge: Online. (now this would be hilarious)

Fallen Earth, because it sounds promising of an interesting post-apocalyptic setting and the potential for a good ongoing story. Whether the actual game lives up to the name remains to be seen.

Ryzom, because no one knows exactly what it means. One of many fascinating mysteries in and around the game. It sounds similar to "rhizome," which would make sense since Atys is a plant and the "Great Dragon"/"Dragon of the Apocalypse" is supposed by legend to be dormant in the core root-ball of Atys. An obscure page on ryzom.com also suggests that "someone or something" is searching for "the Ryzom."

As long as it doesn't have "online" in the name, it is better. "online" signifies a grinding Korean MMORPG.

It would soon be nick named Meatloaf pasta* then. Which, doesn't sound that tasty... Hmm, bad name regarding PR.

    Let me try again..
The World Where Canned Air Is The Only Weapon* - TWWCAITOW.. Nah, not atttractive.

Red Versus Blue The MMORPG Without An Story* - RVBTMMORPGWAS. DEAD ON! I rule at this stuff.

*Don't blame me, for the lack of decent humour.

Smedley Agonizes in Eternal Fiery Torment Online, aka SAEFTO.  Think it would appeal to wide audience.

WoW has the best name of the existing MMOs.

The sigle is simple and mean something as well.

EvE is pretty cool as well, as a reborn, something new.

Too bad I doesn't like either!  "SoEWhat" could be nice!

Totally, but swap the Eternal and the Fiery to make SAFETO. People will flock to it with a name like that.

For me, the best mmo is Dungeon and Dragon Online: Stormreach because it is very Unique- you can  Create a unique individual with millions of different combinations of looks, skills, stats, feats, races, and classes. I simply like the game :-)

    How about...

World of Trivial Fights, Playing With Noobs.

    WTF PWN.

I think the title Dungeons and Dragon Online: Stormreach sucks. It's completely unimaginative, just using it's franchises name, plus 'Online' and the name of the city where the game takes place.

I think "Hero's Journey" is my favorite name. It's not every day someone names their game after a Joseph Campbell reference (and a terrific one, at that). Heck, it's not often I hear of anyone  making Joseph Campbell references. Love for modern-day philosophers = a win to me.
