of “Dark and Light™, the largest MMORPG you have ever seen”, analyses
the first months of exploitation of the game Dark and Light.
Although the principal innovating technical features (a unique world,
three axes of progression, a total freedom of movement without loading
time, to quote only the main ones) function in a very satisfactory way,
but still some Dark and Light Players would like the completion and
handling of the game to be improved
Farlan Entertainment, which is, let us recall it, a young editing
company made up of an enthusiastic personnel, had indeed decided in
June to launch the game under the double pressure of its impatient
community as well as a financial pressure due to its establishment in
private capital. Today, the editor draws up the conclusions and reacts
to them.
After having prioritized the production of the principal
characteristics and key features of the game, Farlan Entertainment
currently concentrates on the completion of the generic functions that
every good game must obviously provide: a better handling, the
legibility of the user interface, the improvement of the transfer speed
of the engine, improvement of the immersion in the world, improvement
of the fights in particular those in groups.
In order to achieve this, the latter, Frederic Caillé, CEO of Farlan
Entertainment, has today announced they have signed a new agreement of
production with the company SnailGame. This agreement will make it
possible to multiply the outputs of NP3 by working alongside an
additional team of 40 people in Shanghai. The 2 partners wanting that
all the chances are given to the product, knowing that they had already
signed an agreement of distribution in China.
SnailGame will concentrate on graphic and scenario production: contents
addition (quests, trade, craft places, temples and backgrounds such as
dolmen or ruins - no villages), characters graphics and addition of
variety of mobs. Farlan Entertainment specifies that NP3 remains the
head of Dark and Light development, focusing on the game debug and
development, the game balancing, user interface and game plays
enhancement, Mafate 2.0 engine, among others.
Farlan Entertainment decided to stop, for the three next months, all
invoicing of monthly payments and game credits to the subscribers of
Dark and Light, thus providing ample time for the integration of the
corrective measures and the improvements required by the players.
This polishing task has already started since June and first results could be seen in the latest major patch.
All the owners of a Dark and Light key will therefore benefit from free full access to the game during that period.
