If SOE made a pre-CU SWG server, would you play again?

I would. Hell even if they left the easy mode Jedi system I wouldn't care. After the CU the game became just another WoW clone, and to be honest, I'd rather play WoW then a WoW clone, and that's why WoW has so many players.

Also, I'm sure this has been done a million times, I don't care we need to keep stuff like this going.

    No. Simply enough its because I can not trust them as a company any longer. If a different company, say Bioware, were to make one, then I would.

    Yes, I would. It would take alot of swallowed pride, I've said some things in forums about SOE that could be construed as 'immovable hatred', but the truth is I'm jealous of the people who like the NGE. I was never a Jedi, but the things I was able to do in pre-CU SWG with my character were ground-breaking to me, and I have never, ever recaptured that same type of recognition and immersion in any other MMO I've ever played.

    The main reason I could stomache SOE's presentation of a Pre-CU server is because it would be very low on their list of priorties, I would think. Let's say LA forces Sony to put up the server, I would think that the pre-CU would then be treated as an afterthought, (unless server pop and customer demand forcasted growth) and so, I would get what I have always wanted for the past two years *Gimmee a pre-CU server and leave me alone*...heh

    I only made this because, I think a lot of people like myself miss the old star wars galaxies. I loved the combat, the PvP, everything. No game has been able to build community like SWG, no game had toon customization like SWG. SWG had one of the best crafting systems, and was in the right direction for a lot of other things. A few minor tweaks and the game could've been great. Hell after WoW came out I went to wow, but 3 months later i came back to lose SWG to the pre-CU.

    I only ask this, because maybe SOE/LA really just needs to see that we the people, are homesick for an MMORPG that can't be redone like the old SWG.

    Very reasonable. You are not afraid that they would change it all again or drop service for some insane made up reason? I have to say I loved the old game but I just can't trust these guys to keep their word about anything.

    Nope... time to move on.

    Now, if they came out with a whole new swg (ie updated graphics, richer questlines) but left the sandbox aspect of the game alone and kept the original 32 professions, let me place my house whereever i want... etc etc.. just like pre cu... oh hell ya... I'd have 4 other games to cancel.

    Yup.  Even though I don't like SOE, I would go back.  I have bounced around between other MMORPGs for the last 5 months and none had the appeal that SWG did.

    No way. The game wasnt any good pre cu, and got worse with every publish. This game is dead.

    Answer = NO - i want control over my char in any game i play - if anything happens i want my char backed up on disk so i can get it back, i therefore see only one choice for me if i ever want to play SWG again.

    Recent discussions and posts have lead me to believe that it might not have been entirely SOE at fault (beleive what you will).  In light of that, I'm willing to give SOE a second chance.  But that's all I give anybody.  Blow that, and I will write SOE off forever.

    I reserve the right, however, to come back here and bitch till I'm blue in the face.

    QFT.  However, my shame will be personal, and I'm willing to risk it for the game I love above all others.

    But, SOE had better soon make up their minds about what they plan to do:  They may lose me forever to other science fiction MMOs, like EVE or STO, if they keep me floating in the pre-CU void much longer.  I'm tired of waiting for them to pull their heads out of their asses.

    I said maybe because:

    I would come back to play on pre-CU servers only if SOE kept them that way and fixed the bugs. (Not including balance issues and problems that were caused by the actual game mechanics of the time)

    However, I doubt SOE would do that even if they did start pre-CU servers.

    I think that if there ever is a pre-CU released, a number of shakeups will occur.  Not necessarily top-down, but maybe 50% plus.  Does that work?

    Actually I preferred post-CU.  I doubt I'd go back to a pre-CU server.

    After the NGE SWG just became some dumb mmofps/rpg wanna-be. I loved the game before NGE but now it sucks, and they lost about everyone who used to play the game. Bad choice SOE, return the game to the original state and i would gladl play it again.
