Since muslim extremism isn't worrysome enough...

The world just keeps going more and more out of wack:

Greenland's ice loss accelerating rapidly, gravity-measuring satellites reveal

Overall Antarctic snowfall hasn't changed in 50 years

Arctic dips as global waters rise

Arctic's tropical past uncovered

Some of those results are unique and haven't yet been verified, so keep that in mind, but there's so much weird, unpredictable localized weather behavior... This is one tuff puzzle to assemble.

Maybe we are getting ready for the Earth's poles to reverse again. That will really mess things up.

I shoot for the curve... anything above that is gravy.

Brit, have I told you that I love when you bring up Global Warming? Why you ask? Well, something odd happens. EVERY time you have brought up the topic here it gets cooler in Las Vegas than the previous couple of years.

I am not slamming Global Warming at all. I believe in it. The severity is a little vague but I believe in it. Just wanted to point out that your concern it at least keeping me cooler .

"What is it I have against Microsoft, you ask? Well, you know how you feel when you wait for an MMO to come out and when it does you feel like you've paid to play it's beta test for another 6-9 months before anything even thinks of working the way it should? Being a network engineer you feel that way about anything Microsoft puts out."

True, climates do change and there are solar shifts. But thinking that all the pollutants and gases we blow out as a species through our technology are doing anything to BETTER the situation is a bad way to think.

Don't get me wrong, I have a lot off faith in this old rock we live on and I think something we get a little arrogant in thinking we have so much power over it. Truth be told, we'll just kill ourselves off and some other lifeforms if we keep going the way we are but the earth will shrug her shoulders and give a hearty "meh" when that happens most likely and keep chugging along.

heh, by all the talk (not neccessarily in this thread) you would think it's the hottest it's ever been.

That's it then! The more we look into it and debate it... the cooler it'll get! By the time we got fistfights going on, we'll be back to an ice age apex again! ::::15::

Seriously now though, thanks Malachi, I am not saying we know all the answers, it very obvious it's not so, but it's important we pay attention, so I just post links.

Sorry it's me most of the time, I don't mind being the global warming ragdoll, lol!

PS: I hate this editor sooooooooooooooooooooooooo much, just soooooooooo much! ::::11::::::23::

Where do you find all this stuff? You must be some serious science article reader Brit :)

Yeah the weather is pretty fecked up here in northern Ontario. Friggen reached like 90 degrees F, (40's Celcius) - all I can say is WTF?! It's not supposed to get that hot. But here's the real kick in the nuts, it was just as cold as any other bitter canadian winter in dec/jan and probobally will be this year too.

If it's not one extreme, it's the other up here.

Only requires a 2 degree overall temp change in the North Atlantic currents to start a ICE AGE. We are very close to that now. If the NA conveyor slows down due to melting ICE<Fresh water to Saltwater>, we will be in big trouble

    DOOM&GLOOM FTW!!

If this keeps up, and the ice caps keep melting, California will sink......Surfing in VEGAS BABY!!!!

Seriously, it has not been any hotter, actually cooler where I live (SW USA)

I shoot for the curve... anything above that is gravy.
