Thinking about returning

I started playing AC as soon as it was released in the UK. I thouroughly enjoyed it but like many others I left to join AC2. Sadly, as we know, AC2 was never a match for the origional. All they needed to do was improve the graphics and some other issues.

Since then I have played just about every mmorpg out there but have never found one that I can really stick with.

Now I read about the changes in AC I'm thinking about coming back. I just wish they would release a "modern" AC, one that has cutting edge graphics whilst retaining the same skill system and atmosphere. One of my gripes was that the devs didn't try to incorporate more into the game. Everyone and his dog were running plugins, some of which were great.

One thing worries me though, Turbine are charging for the game download plus what I consider to be a quite hefty monthly subscription. A lot of other games offer the client as a free download.

Would you say the graphics are much improved over the first game?

Have they implemented any of the plugins as standard?

I'm not sure what you mean. The monthly events have been pretty reliable over the past few years, and I am a regular player but still far from doing every quest in the game. I feel like the game offers more than just about any other on the market.

The graphics are much improved, but still below average for today's standards. You can download a special patch for the "very high" detail textures. I personally just use "high" detail and am very happy with the results.

A lot of cool features have been added over the years. We can create additional floating chat windows and global chat channels where we can speak to the whole server. There is a title list which adds in titles that you acquire over time. You can choose which title from the list to display. There's a new friends list interface. They made buffing quicker. Creature self spells cast at level 1 speed, and it's possible to bane all the armor you are wearing with a single spell.

AC rocks now IMO and is better than "a year after it was released" as some people state.  They've made a lot of improvements.  For the most part the different classes are balanced, but theres always room for improvement.

Ohh and leveling and getting gold is a lot easier now if you know what your doing.
