Well it is think about it
2 new races total ! well it's something at least you finally can play a beautiful women char on horde side but bit lacking IMO
NO NEW CLASSES!!!! A good MMORPG would have at least 2 new classes to have something intresting new to play instead they make shaman and paladin possible on the opposite side to screw the last bit of fun diversity in the game go away. This will hurt PvP aswell sins that will become totally that same for both sides which takes pasrt of the fun factor away
MONTHS WORK SCREWED BY UPING MAX LVL all your hard earned gear from months raiding totally useless and besides that you can be pretty sure they only worth while exping can be done in the expansion zones making the expansion an OBLIGATION to reach max level. no classic play options like in other mmorpg's. The already massively money making mmorpg wouldn't make enough EXTRA profit withouth the expansion you will be screwed stuck with to low lvl mobs to kill if you don't buy the expansion. I haven't seen any announcements of new mobs in pre expansion erea's to compensate for this
JEWELCRAFTING ANOTHER BORING CRAFT well can't really complain WoW isn't really good in the crafting erea but why does that socketablity the introduce feel like a complete copy of there diablo II socketability at least a company like blizzard could do something NEW ????????? We where used to get the new and best of there genre of blizzard but nowdays there just milking old ideas
Ok it has some new erea's but that obligation with an new expansion. It wouldn't qaulify as expansion withouth new erea's. In total i see 2 new things that are intresting FLYING MOUNTS well that could actaully be fun to bad you can only use em in the expansion erea's and then the TIME LAPSE part of the game that could be intresting but i understand it's just one dugeon that that happens still it's fun addition.
Blizzard which i always thoughed to be an excellent gaming company has found out with diablo II that ITEM driven games keep hordes of (especially younger)peeps playing for ages and and are becomming a greedy rip-off company whoring item lovers for there money. Oh yeah there some new stuff in the expansion but they main thing the expansion gives is making that items people worked there freaking ASS off raiding for totally useless so the grind for ITEMS can start all over again. This is a rip-off costing about 50 dollars and then the monthly cost thats probably beeing payed by the parents. It's no wonder that WoW isn't in the Highest ranking list anymore and after the expansion is out it can't be taken serious anymore sins normal mmorpg bring more then ITEM driven crap

blizzard is a rip off.
they let level 60 players play for almost a year with nothing to do and still charge them.
I really dislike the way they raising the lvl max in the way they do and therefore consider it a rip-off. I really think efforts done by players should atleast retain something of there meaning in the first expansion. Sins WoW end game only has meaning because off the high lvl armor you get during raiding and the lvl raising will make that armor usseless it doesn't ADD anything it more REPLACES. Basically you have to do all the raiding over again just 10 lvls higher with no new classes. It basically only adds new ereas but sins most peeps especially WoW players aren't explorer type mmorpg players it actaully for most players only ads new items that you are obligated to get because of the new max lvl. Basically the most dedicated players get hit the hardest which i just can't see as a good thing peroid.
It's a rip off because they charge for additions to a game that people are already paying for.

Your going to love most of the other MMOs as well then.
The expansion adds more content. I agree that it is rather bland content. The 25 Man dungeons and multiple difficulty dungeons seem to be borrowed from other MMOs.
The expansion will sell millions of copies and the subscriber base to WoW will pass 7 maybe even hit 8 million.
The one thing that Blizzard does well is keep people playing. Do you think most of the players are happy with the way the game is going? No. But they are just happy enough to keep playing.
I don't think the expansion is a rip off, but considering it doesn't have features that have been promised since release (Hero Classes) it isn't great. Is it worth the $49.95? If you still play WoW, yes it is worth it. 30% more land mass, 2 new starting areas, 1 new crafting skill, 10 more levels, flying mounts, Horde Paladins, Alliance Shaman, etc. Sounds like a lot to me, but I won't buy it.

there will be no 40 man raid instances in BC.
I agree with the OP on the classes issue. I would expect at least a new class per side. But knowing Blizzards history they have a few things they aren't even mentioning till its released. I will judge the expansion once its out.
All your hard earned gear became " totally useless " every time they added a new raid dungeon with a new tier of gear, so why would adding 10 more lvls and a pile of new places for people to go be any different ? Are you saying you want an expansion that has no new gear ( or gear that's no better then what you already have ) in a game that's never made any secret about what the end game is about ?
You didn't even make it to 60 once in what has to be the one of the easiest lvling MMOs on the market....wtf are you complaining about.
Why bother posting at all if this is all you can come up with.
If you dont like it, dont buy it and shut your piehole.

If you dont understand what i write, ask a damn question instead of going into autoflaming-mode.
And dont read in stuff between the lines, i say what i mean.
But this is a tradition with every mmorpg, it is to cover server costs really but because WoW make so much the rest really goes as profit. I guess I can see from a new person perspective how raising the level cap basically obliterates the past investments of time to gear up and that but I don't think its that common a worry, most people are just happy to see more content. But in future expansions, they may not always raise the level cap, as in other mmorpgs they don't. Additionally, I think the next expansion will probably be already in the works as it is a moneyspinner for Blizzard.

Like the main poster said before "the last bit of diversity in this game is gone".
Bland classes that every side can play, except for two and now if you want you can play them as well.
I would forsake all of the "content" blizzard offers us in this expansion for 2 new classes.. but no, we get a new area to run around, a few more dungeon that look like the last, and races. WHOOPIE.

That's BS, monthy sub fees provide more than enough revenue to pay server costs on an MMO once you get above about 60K subs, once that happens they are making steady money. Obviousily WoW's server costs are a bigger factor due to the number of them, but with the amount of subs they have they are bringing in wads of cash. They could easily afford to release this expansion free of charge they just chose not to, and instead are following a practise pioneered by SOE with EQ1.
There are several MMO's on the market that don't charge for expansions, EVE and L2 being the most prominent, CoX I would also classify as another as CoV wasn't so much an expansion as a different game that tied in with CoH. An expansion should add new gameplay elements and features to a game, not just add more content, otherwise the game will become stale.
My biggest complaint is that they are rendering the game useless unless you purchase the expansion.
They are adding more fixes to things that have been broken from day one then they are adding content.
I think they will do well with it though. They will sell alot of copies. Many of the people who got bored long ago and quit will come back.
I think it will all be short lived hype though as people realize that they paid more money on top of their continued monthly fees for more of the same stuff that they got bored with.
I bought a copy of WoW when it hit the shelf and since then I've taken a few breaks (both 3 months) just to come back as I couldn't find anything else to hold my interest.
I'm hoping and praying that one of the upcoming titles in the MMO market will be able to hold my interest this time cause I loathe spending my free time doing yard work...
At any rate, I won't be purchasing the Xpac after 2 years of playing.
That being said, Blizzard fawking rocks. They made a great game with WoW regardless of what the h8ers say, they have always made great games(IMO). I just hope they aren't throwing all of their eggs in this basket. I hope they are working on other things beyond WoW. If they are I will buy whatever it is when it hits the shelf.
