He is very pleased with what he has seen. He cant be specific because of the non-disclosure, but I have known him for a few years and played other mmorpgs with him, so I value his opinion.

Brilliant idea. Admit that your friend broke the NDA on a public forum. That seem like a good idea to you? Apparently he shouldn't trust his friends to keep their mouths closed so that he doesn't lose his access.

oh yeah, they will really figure out exactly who his friend is. 

I hope though people respect the nda and keep the info to themselves.  There's nothing like people talking about an alpha release and saying the game is goign to suck or be great or whatever.

wow, people need to lighten up. As if Turbine is going to track me down, somehow link me to my friend, and track him down too.... all for saying "he is pleased with what he has seen. He cant be more specific because of the NDA".

Why do I think if I had said "he hates the game, Turbine sucks", we would have had 1000 people in this thread saying 'I told you so!'. LOL.

Oh well, so much for sharing some good news.

I understand what you were doing, but by telling you and then you posting, he already broke the NDA, so saying can't say more because of NDA isn't right, your friend can't say anything at all because of the NDA, and therefore neither can you.

How I am being a moron, I was just pointing out that he said he can't share more because it would break NDA but what he already did share broke the NDA anyways.

I was just accepted to Alpha-3 last night. They said the servers aren't up till next week, so how could your friend already see it? Interesting. I guess different stages have different servers. Ah well, I am excited nonetheless and look forward to my beta-testing fun!

Alpha is up and running, and Turbine has even posted some players' comments on their website. There is a separate thread on this forum about it too.

As far as being 'innovative', we will just have to wait and see. Maybe that is a hugely important issue for a veteran MMORPG player who is unhappy with other games out there. But for the core audience for this game - Tolkien fans and gamers who want to adventure in middleearth - that probably isnt the main criteria. We just want a good, fun game with sufficient content, set in middleearth. And besides, using morale instead of healing, different treatment of the mage class, the role of quests and the storyline - there are plenty of innovate aspects to the game if you think about it.
