Need help with server and class choice please

pcorajrpcorajr Member Posts: 32

I been playing MMOrpg for about 8 years now and L2 was a mmorpg i never gave a fair chance but im about to change that, i got the game and got my accoutn set up and game installed. my question is what server should i pick ?

I am mainly a solo player but would like to get into a clan and group with others. i dont have much time to spend in the game maybe 2 to 3 hours every other day and sometimes in the weekend. i know the game is a grind but im willing to try it and finally give it the fair chance it deserves.

Anyways im more of a PVE person, i want to play a class that is solo efficient and at the same time can get groups, so im guessing Bladedancer?

Also im in EST time im looking for a server with moderate amounts of player but not something that is super packed.

I am also looking for a Clan that is for casual players and does mainly pve and some PVP. Thanks in advace and hpefully see ya soon in-game.

Currently playing:
WoW
GW
Games im looking foward to:
ZerA
Granado Espada

The Blade Dancer would probally be an alright choice. You can solo and people will want to party with you for your Dances which buff up a party. I would say a BD is definately gonna let you get groups, since it was designed to be a group support class. But the BD is an interesting class, it does have the ability to solo it you max out your STR rating for PvE.

Other good solo classes are the Spellhowler, Silver Ranger, and summoner classes.

Server fullness is usually determined by the time they were released. For example Bartz is the most full server with the exception of Teon which is the European server. So if you don't want super packed servers Bartz and Teon are probally what you are not looking for.

Kain is moderate imo. That is the server I play, but it is a very VERY pvp orientated server.

I hear Erica is full of cheaters, so u probally don't wanna go there.

So I dunno pick a server that has low ping for u and isn't at Heavy Status, and don't pick erica. I hope you find a good clan and the right server, because it can make a world of difference. If you ever wanna join Kain just let me know and you could probally come into our clan.

Don't join Bartz if you don't want PvP, thats for sure >_>.

Other than that, good luck. Haven't realy heard of too many people that play Lineage II for it's PvE merrit.

Oh you would be suprised Nadril, lol. I know about 30 people that hate PvP and LOVE the PvE in L2. I mean they are all like lvl 70+ and just pve all day. The only time they pvp is if someone tries to take their pve spot...lol. These people love collecting mats and crafting up stuff, playing the market, getting gear, and just getting that next .01% lol. Actually these are the only peeps that I know are 100% legit.

I mean seriously tho, lol...if you like PvE more than PvP L2 is probally even better. But you can't hate pvp, lol.

people really do have a bad impression on this game

yes, it is the PvP pinacle of MMO's  (imo)

however, the animations, the raid monsters, the geography, the artistry, the sound, the music make this game so much more then people give it credit

the grind factor has been dramatically reduced.  im a very casual gamer and I hit 40 in 2 months.  I saw someone in my clan go from 20-40 in 2 weeks.  I played when the game was released til chron 2 and the highest toon I had was 35 so I can honestly tell you the grind has dropped

*edit* lol.. I guess i just felt like getting that off my chest??

if you're a PvE fan I would suggest Lionna.  Its an RP prefered server, but you'll meet a lot of great gamers and some very good political conflicts.  There you will find a lot of PvE centere clans that take part in castle seiges, and clan wars.  I think on Lionna you may have better odds of getting into a clan prior level 40 since there are so many RP and RP casual clans that dont care if your a 24/7 gamer or a 2 day a week gamer

Deliverance Alliance for instance (shameless plug)

Yeah there is plenty to do, I guess I just can't see why someone would want to grind in Lineage II for PvE. IMO there are better PvE oreinted games out there >_>.

    To each their own.

Indeed there are plenty of better pve games out there even though I wouldn't consider them good MMOs. I am one that dosn't like instances if I am going to play a Massively Multiplayer game. My favorite MMO would be where going out in the world would be like trying to find your way out of a mosh pit, yea!!!

The think that L2 does have going for it for PvE though is it is reitively simple to get a hang of. It is beutiful graphics so exploring new areas and just going out to see whats out there is awesome.

Actually the pve isn't bad at all...unless you really wanna reach high end pvp fast. Basically the pve is pretty fun if you aren't in a rush to the end game pvp. Because L2 is kinda like a sandbox, you can do anything in the world. Heh, I remember when I was lvl 35 I decided to run to Aden Castle...very scary because monsters were tough, but very fun nonetheless.
