I decided to play WoW about tree months after it launched. When i did the stress test beta i got a real deja vu sense of eq1 all over again. later i said what the hell ill give it a chance. I did not like WoW in the slightest. was just my personal prefrence. I could go into depth about the why i didnt like it but its irrelevent.
Basically i did not enjoy the game at the time. If a game does not capture you in the first thirty minutes thier marketing team failed to catch you. This is a pivotal time for a game to hook new players, first impressions are a big deal. So basically if the first 30 minutes sucked, and you got up to level 20 and still not having too much fun, then simply try another game. You can always come back later and retry it, and with this games history next time your back it will probally be a whole new game.

Maybe consider what it is that made you mad, so that we can discuss those things. It may be that you are not suited for MMO's. Because chances are, that something that made you mad is in every MMO and what's the point in buying a new MMO that you know you will quit as soon as something makes you mad?
But if you don't want to consider these things, just try out a new game. No sense in going back to WoW if you know you're just going to get mad again and quit.
One thing i see that could be effecting how you feel about EQ2 is your lvl. You said that you have 1 player at lvl 20 and then 5 others at lvl 10.
Dont get me wrong on this, because im a firm believer in having alts and the fun they can provide, but you should prolly not be playing alot of diffrent toons from the start. Eq2 has been out for some time now and alot of the players in this game are high lvls.
At lower lvls, you might find a few guys here and their to group with, or spend hours LFG...but this all changes my friend at higher lvls. Once you hit 20 the game just barly starts picking up, and then around 30 & 40 it gets pretty solid "on most of the servers i play on"
Try spending more time lvling up one player before you decide to throw in the towle. If you simply give up at lvl 20, you are missing the one thing that keeps me comming back to EQ2, the community...which again dosent really pick up untill your 30's & 40's.
Well I'm playing EQ2 and having a blast but I always tell people they should do what they enjoy, no need to hang around a game if you'll have more fun somewhere else.
Yeah! each of us has game preference if such a game can't give you satisfaction and happiness then quit and try out the game what you think is best and give's you more excitement everytime you will play.
Originally posted by destro3979 i quit... ita so anoying to quit... they ask you 50 questions before you can even say that you want to quit...
Well they dont want you to leave now do they? The reason they have them questsions is because at the end they show you solutions to what might be the reason of you quiting...like you are saying you are not having fun. Well if you fill out the questions have have a look at the end answer you might see some tips you never thought of.
PS EQ2 is alot of fun, but you have to try to find a good guild with joyful members. Running around solo is not fun at all IMO.

Really? I started playing 4 days ago and I have a level 20, a level 17, and a level 12.

EQ II is boring as watching grass grow and the combat in it is even more boring. I haven't felt like logging into it in months. They slowly watered it down to just another mediocre MMO over the last year and I honestly don't find anything exciting about it.
A year ago I would have been frothing at the mouth for the new upcoming expansion, now I can't even get excited about it.

lol... Go play some SWG.. I'm sure you have a Jedi already.. Btw I could say the same things about SWG.. I was once drueling over it until they tried to put dung in my mouth, then I threw up. You wouldn't be on this forum if you either A: Had some true hate against Eq2, or B: Really deeply cared about it.. Go watch some grass grow

what's the matter, can't handle someone saying something bad about EQ II so you have to smack talk the person? That's real mature, don't like a person's opinion on a video game so you result to personal insults.

You're talking about a boring battle system, yet you play SWG? Nice. Go back to your First-Person-Shooter-MMO

How is that any different than insulting a game, calling it boring, and giving no reasons at all for said "review". Quite typical considering your previous posts.
How is combat boring? Not enough skills? Just about every class has a huge variety... Combat animations look great and the heroic opportunity should keep you busy less you;re just lazy and like to mash 2 buttons over and over.
The more they make this game into another highly polished turd (ala WoW) the less I play it. At least this game still has some fun content, which is more than I can say for WoW.
Your a fool for quiting at 20...Ignore the guy who plays SWG, the drugs are getting to him i guess. 20 is just the beggning really but eah well u quit whose stopping u

It's not his fault that the people that designed the game didn't think far enough ahead. I made 23 or 24 myself before I let my account expire. I'm sure the game would have picked up, but if your starting out, don't know anyone, and constantly feel like your the only person in game what the hell are you supposed to do. Oh sure you see the occasional person making an alt, but they run right past you, already knowing exactly where to go and what to do- they may not need new players, but the new players need them. this is especially true if you enjoy group oriented characters with little or no solo power once you hit those levels.
He's not the fool, the fool is the one that decided to sperate the community so badly in a game that takes so long to level.
I played WoW till lvl 60. I loved the game. The end game was not to my liking and there was not enough content to get me to play another character so I quit it. Been playing EQ2 for a couple of months now. I like it much better than WoW. More content, much better grouping oportunities (people actually play their characters and have fun and not some freaking punk screwing around for some solo opportunity). The community is night and days ahead in EQ2, there is much more content, and the game engine itself lends to social activities. Nothing more fun that the guild getting together to complete some writs or herritage quests to try and level the guild . I basically see EQ2 as a better, more indepth version of WoW though. But I like that .

Have you considered the server you are on? I have been playing since launch on Crushbone, and even i will admit that at lower lvls it is very, very lonley here. However, i did create an alt on a diffrent server and i have NEVER had as much fun as i did at lower lvls with that alt.
Before trowing in the towl because your lonley, try changing things up a bit. Switch servers, Get more involved with the community, join a guild.
Im terriably sorry that you feel as though its the Devs fault for creating a game that has "seperated the community" which is absolutly not the case. This is a MMO...and for that matter you will find the same problem with ANY MMO you are jumping into this far after release.
Everyone who has played this game since relase and has had to go threw the learing curve themselfs, and have learned where to lvl fast, and how, have every right to blow threw the lower lvls so they can catch up to their friends mains with their alts.
And BTW, how is it that the devs of this game have seperated the community out? if ANYTHING they have helped it by merging some of the less populated servers with the more popular ones.
Play the game, Enjoy it for what its worth, but expect the same thing anywhere else ya go bud...no one gives hand outs, or holds peoples hands while their new here. You might get the ocasional help on a quest or finding something, but your not going to just get people helping you out to run you threw quest for the hell of it...this isnt Diablo...we dont "Rush for Baal" here!
Simple solution for the low level blues, wait till EoF comes out because it adds a new race and new content for 1-70.
From that alone you should be able to find a mass influx of new players to play with.
I didn't really have a problem grouping at lower levels (I to play on Crushbone since release) and I have 70 templar, 30 fury, 47 troub, 51 illusionist, 42 defiler and several characters no lower than level 20 (also have a second account with yet another 70 (fury) on another server).
The average level of players is higher than 1-40...just less people. They are adjusting EXP for solo upwards again to improve solo play for people in this situation as well (GU 27 I believe).
